20ish hours total, and that's a wrap. Surprise surprise Twitter and Reddit are wrong, and probably expected another Symphony of the Night. This game rules, it's just different. And it's better that way with the devs sticking to their guns while clearly showing a lot of love for Castlevania.

The story was well done. Boss fights have been a good time (maybe except Dracula's chaotic mess of a fight). I really dig the added emphasis on platforming, level design, and puzzles. It's a great foundation. I'm not super big on the way relics and weapons are handled. Plus music's alright...

Enemy diversity's kinda lacking, and a little for environments too. Could also have little adjustments like quick select for tarot cards and a minimap on the HUD. Again, not sure if this is a top 10 Castlevania for me. But a damn solid low A or high B. I'm just happy we'll get more.

I'm close to five hours in the new Castlevania, and I've been playing these games for a good long while by now. Internet's clearly on something, trying to say it's bad or "not Castlevania". Belmont's Curse is a blast. Yeah, it's different and probably not in my top 10 but what's the problem?

bluesky is using AI, fourthwall is using AI, patreon is using AI, twitch is using AI, my tiny german internet host in the middle of nowhere is using AI - unfortunately everything tech related will be touched by this shit somehow. all you can do is disable it best you can and tell them it sucks

#MinaTheHollower I am now going to refer to any bonestones sold in shops as scamstones, because my god does the randomizer love putting them in shops. And I'm just burning holes in my pockets if I buy them.

The future is incredible! They can code an arachnophobia mode into my very genes! ... Oh, GOD! TAKE IT BACK! TAKE IT BACK!

Despite my bitching and skill issue, Nine Sols is a good game. And I get why it's designed the way it is... I still take issue with how bloody atrocious these hitboxes are!

...So what's the point of buying Disney+ Premium now?

It's been 5 years since Bowser's Fury and almost a decade since Odyssey. As much as I'd love to see a new 3D Mario, if him taking the backseat means all of Nintendo's other IP get their limelight I'll gladly take it. I've more series I like from them that aren't just their top ones. (1/4)

Let's not act like they're actually forgetting about nor care about 3D Mario. It'll be shown months before release. It's just taking a break from the public eye to cook, coming out when it's ready. Same for Smash, now that Sakurai and his team wrapped up Air Riders. (3/4)

I'm just saying it really pays to branch off and become a fan of their less mainstream, more "underground" properties this generation. Sure it's a remake, but look at Star Fox. It's a great time to try out something that isn't just old reliable. (4/4)

Plus more focus on comparatively underground franchises is a good thing. I'm seeing more excitement for Metroid Ravenous than I have with Dread, and that was already a pretty big deal. And then there's the spotlight for Fire Emblem, plus Kirby and Xenoblade next year. (2/4)

You ever wonder why there's such an overlap between PMD fans and furries? We can thank Dragon Quest and Chunsoft for it and giving us peak fiction in 2009.

it's kind of funny how things can just happen like this
