Austrias second highest summit #Wildspitze with its surrounding glacier which is shrinking more each year, a fate shared with basically all glaciers in the Alps. #MountainMonday #landscape #landscapephotography #aerials #fujifilm #eastcoastkin #ECK #photography #glacier #classicmono #blackandwhite

When the temperatures drop and low clouds roll into Alpine valleys from the plains autumn has arrived. A good time for photography like on this memorable evening down by the river. #stunday #landscape #landscapephotography #fujix #fujifilm #EastCoastKin #ECK #photography #naturephotography #alps

#TheRoad to nowhere, for #BlueSkyArtShow ! Driving in Iceland is a unique experience as such, with these special weather conditions even more so! #landscape #landscapephotography #fujix #fujifilm #photography #nature #Iceland #EastCoastKin #ECK

My wife enjoying the loneliness at a small lake with crystal-clear water surrounded by mountain peaks. A place that immediately radiates a feeling of serenity and feels like #home ! #blueskyartshow #landscape #landscapephotography #fujix #fujifilm #mountains #EastCoastKin #ECK #photography #scape

This narrow rocky canyon with its small cascades does not see a lot of sun, luckily I arrived there at the right time for a beam of light making it through. #waterfallwednesday #landscape #landscapephotography #fujix #fujifilm #waterfall #EastCoastKin #ECK #photography #naturephotography #austria

Laying down in the grass and enjoying the view after an exhausting climb - pure summer feeling close to home in the Tyrolean Alps. #mountainmonday #landscape #landscapephotography #fujix #fujifilm #mountains #EastCoastKin #ECK #photography #nature #naturephotography #alps #austria

A perfect start to a new day with an early hike up the mountains looking down into a vivid green Alpine valley illuminated by soft morning sunlight. #stunday #landscape #landscapephotography #fujix #fujifilm #mountains #EastCoastKin #ECK #sunrise #photography #nature #alps #austria

Glowing peaks! One of these rare moments when things lined up nicely: clouds forming, the evening sun breaking through and being in the right place to capture the scene. #landscape #landscapephotography #fujix #mountains #EastCoastKin #ECK #scenicsaturday #scape #aerials #nature #alps #austria

An action shot for a change, inspired by this weeks #alphabetchallenge - the theme is #WeekJforJetBlack so here is a (mostly) black jet showing its topside during a spectacular display at an #airshow in Switzerland. #photography #aviation #avgeek #aviationdaily #fujifilm #fujix #eastcoastkin

A small collection of the many incredible waterfalls Iceland has to offer for #waterfallwednesday ! The raw power of nature can be felt at these places. #landscape #landscapephotography #fujix #fujifilm #photography #nature #Iceland #EastCoastKin #ECK #waterfall

A glimpse of #sunlight made it through the dark clouds lighting up this Alpine valley. #BlueSkyArtShow #landscape #landscapephotography #fujix #fujifilm #photography #nature #winter #winterwonderland #snow #alps #austria #EastCoastKin

In need of some summer vibes I take you to a colorful sunset at this remote beach on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. #stunday #fujix #fujifilm #photography #photographyisart #nature #naturephoto #sunset #beach #landscape #photography #landscapephotography #EastCoastKin

A fresh layer of snow and a deep blue sky create a strong contrast and made me pick black and white for this one. #landscape #landscapephotography #blackandwhitephotography #blackandwhite #monochrome #fujix #fujifilm #winter #winterwonderland #snow #alps #ClassicMono #EastCoastKin #MountainMonday

Winter is not quite over yet despite a below average amount of snow this season. This mini waterfall was captured in April when the temperatures rise, water flows and the greens return. #BlueSkyArtShow #spring #landscape #landscapephotography #fujifilm #photography #waterfall #EastCoastKin #alps

Sunset as seen from our open-air 'bedroom' for the night on top of a mountain. #scape #landscape #landscapephotography #fujix #fujifilm #photographyisart #alps #austria #sunset #photography #PhotographersOfBlueSky #EastCoastKin

Jumping back to summer for #WaterfallWednesday with this view of a local cascade. Spent some time there just watching the light fade and listening to the sound of nature. #fujix #fujifilm #photography #photographyisart #landscape #landscapephotography #PhotographersOfBlueSky #EastCoastKin #austria

I am not much of a wildlife photographer (I admire the patience of those who are!) but ibex, the kings of the mountains, are an exception because they are not shy at all. Here is a proud male example in its natural habitat. #fujix #monochrome #ClassicMono #EastCoastKin #MountainMonday #wildlife

Winter is perfect for b/w photography as the snow reduces colors anyway and a deep blue sky creates a strong contrast. Here is an example from a skitour in the wild, do you agree? #landscapephotography #blackandwhitephotography #monochrome #fujifilm #winterwonderland #blueskyartshow #EastCoastKin

Here is very small waterfall (it still counts right 😅) captured back in autumn for this weeks #WaterfallWednesday with some impressive rock walls in the back. #landscapephotography #mountains #landscape #fujix #photography #photographyisart #nature #alps #PhotographersOfBlueSky #EastCoastKin

Escaping from the stress of everyday life, up in the mountains is where I find tranquility. #blackandwhite #monochrome #fujix #fujifilm #photography #winterwonderland #snow #alps #austria #landscape #landscapephotography #PhotographersOfBlueSky #ClassicMono #EastCoastKin #MountainMonday

Sitting on the bank of a small lake in the mountains - my contribution for #BlueskyArtShow theme #reflections is this self-portrait of a younger me. The water was smooth as glass that evening, conditions I have not witnessed ever since. #landscapephotography #scape #fujix #photography #photography

For a brief moment this alpine peak sticking out of a sea of clouds is engulfed in warm light by the setting sun. #landscape #landscapephotography #landscapehead #fujix #mountains #photography #photographyisart #aerials #nature #naturephoto #winter #winterwonderland #snow #alps #austria #bluesky

#BlueSkyArtShow is about #light this week so here is my choice: our main source of light shining through a tree casting its shadow on the snowy fields. #landscapephotography #landscapehead #blackandwhitephotography #blackandwhite #monochrome #fujifilm #photography #winterwonderland #snow #tree

A bit of snow + cold temperatures + wetlands nearby = pure winter magic! #landscapephotography #landscape #scape #nature #fujix #fujifilm #austria #lake #sunset #nature #naturephoto #winter #winterwonderland #snow #frozen #alps #photography #photographyisart #trees #forest #januarty #bluesky

A monochrome memory I'd name 'the ascent': setting the first tracks in the fresh snow on our way up to what turned out to be a wild and epic downhill powder run. #landscapephotography #fujix #austria #blackandwhitephotography #mountainmonday #winter #winterwonderland #alps #photography #ski

Something different for #WaterfallWednesday ... a close-up look at some artful ice creations at the bottom of a small waterfall. #landscapephotography #landscape #nature #waterfall #fujix #fujifilm #austria #naturephoto #winter #winterwonderland #water #ice #alps #photography

Art by mother nature: came across this rootstock sticking out of the water and thought it was a nice subject. Reflections and morning fog complete the scene. #landscapephotography #winterwonderland #nature #photography #mountains #austria #alps #fujix #fujifilm #landscape #naturephotography #snow

Getting up early is against my nature but worth the struggle sometimes. Like in this example where a colorful pinkish sunrise was the reward. #landscapephotography #landscape #nature #fujix #fujifilm #austria #lake #sunrise #naturephoto #winter #winterwonderland #alps #photography

A blanket of fresh snow was laid over the landscape the night before, creating a cold and calm atmosphere as clear water flows down this canyon. #WaterfallWednesday #landscapephotography #landscape #nature #longexposure #waterfall #fujix #fujifilm #austria #naturephoto #winter #alps #photography

In the spotlight: soft evening light illuminates a secluded mountain cabin making it stand out from its cold surroundings. #landscapephotography #winter #winterwonderland #nature #photography #mountains #austria #alps #fujix #fujifilm #sunset #landscape #naturephotography #snow

It seems #WaterfallWednesday is a thing, so here is a cold and icy shot from last week that nicely fits the theme! #landscapephotography #landscape #nature #longexposure #waterfall #fujix #fujifilm #austria #naturephoto #winter #alps #photography

While it is far from the highest, Hochvogel summit always is a great photo subject thanks to its 'classic' triangle mountain shape. Seen here with some fresh snow just before sunrise. #mountains #landscapephotography #nature #photography #austria #sunrise #snow #landscape #fujix #winterwonderland

A magic moment as the sun goes down pictured flying high above the clouds held back by the Alps along the Austrian-German border. #landscapephotography #mountains #clouds #fujix #aerials #flying #alps #nature #sunset #photography

Inspired by Dans great aerial photos from Alaska - check them out @danbaileyphoto.com - here is the Austrian version of glowing peaks while flying a small plane. Got a dose of awesome light before I had to return to the field as darkness set in. #aerials #landscape #fujix #mountains #flying #austria

Enjoying some rest on the summit with a view that never disappoints being the reward for the exhausting climb up. Especially in autumn the colours really pop on a clear day like this one. #alps #mountain #landscapephotography #photography #fujix #austria #nature #hiking

Summer flashback: halfway through climbing the ridge this mountain peak, our goal of the day, came into view. I really liked the vivid green and blue colors that day and luckily had the cam with me! #mountains #alps #nature #landscape #landscapephotography #fujix #photography #bluesky #hiking

Some clouds started to roll in from the west but luckily the sun managed to break through for a few minutes. While the valleys were in shade already the peaks nicely caught that last light of the day. #landscape #landscapephotography #fujifilm #fujix #mountains #sunset #nature #alps

Time for a first post, so here is my favorite photo of a place I visit every now and then. Takes some effort to get to but always pays off. After the ibex I was intending to (photo!)shoot didn’t turn up I was treated with this magical sunset view. #landscapephotography #fujifilm #sunset #mountains
