She’ll use her squeaky granny meows to request attention & she’s so sweet, we can promise you’ll be more than happy to give it. At ~15, Tampa has some old lady aches that are easily managed with medication & don’t stop her from goofing off with catnip toys or jumping onto the couch for lap time.

His ideal home is a calm, predictable one with adults or older kids who understand kitty boundaries. He appreciates having his space respected & we can relate! Howie is 6 years old & has chronic kidney disease, which doesn't need any care aside from routine monitoring with your regular vet.

As we close out #VetTechAppreciationWeek, please join us in saying THANK YOU to the amazing team of humans who quite literally keep our medical care running! Whether a clinic patient or a rescue, PAWS’ vet techs go above & beyond for the pets who come through our doors. These heroes do it all 🧵

That means administering meds, wound care, pre-op prep & post-op monitoring, bathing ringworm cats, giving shots, prepping surgical packs, cleaning ears, giving fluids & MUCH more. We love having a reason to celebrate our team, but we are grateful every day for their care, compassion & hard work 💛

🍞 Loafing on bags/boxes/anything rectangular 👀 “Hunting” for his treats when his foster parents toss them across the room ☀️ Finding sun spots to lay in 🍑 Booty scritches 🚗 Late-night zoomies 🪟 Looking out the window to watch the daily street drama

👹 Saving you from the monster under the blanket — AKA your feet if he sees them move Rubio is ~12 & takes an easy daily hyperthyroid medication that can be applied topically to his ear. Looking for a kind & gentle companion to cozy up with? Reach out about this sweet boy! → adopt@phillypaws.org

It may not look like it, but this is a big deal! Poor Esther has been very overwhelmed since arriving at the shelter & would barely let anyone near her for her first few days. With time to adjust & encouragement, she’s finally feeling comfy enough to come to the front of her cage for affection 🧵

It became clear Esther was incredibly stressed by these changes, to the point it started affecting her litter box habits after years with no issues. Her owners opted to return her to PAWS so a less busy home could be found for her — ideally without a household of very young kiddos!

Esther would love to find a calm, quiet place to land, with a foster parent who can give this sweet granny multiple litter boxes to choose from. Esther is 10 years old, already spayed & an absolute fiend for catnip. Want to welcome this calico cutie? 💌 Email foster@phillypaws.org for more info!

But what she really needs is a foster home where she can truly feel safe & come back out of her shell ❤️‍🩹 Esther was recently returned from her adoptive home after a lot of changes occurred in a short time period — a big move, her senior best cat friend passed away & her owners had twins.

This gorgeous girl has won the hearts of PAWS staff & volunteers with her charming personality 💕 Huskies are known for their playful antics, boundless energy & love for their people. Snow Pea is no exception! She’s a social butterfly who loves to nuzzle in for pets & hang with her humans.

Kitten toes in abundance, but pantry supplies? Not so much 😭 If you can, please help us restock PAWS' pet pantry by sending supplies today! No one should have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their pet, but that's what hundreds of loving pet owners in Philly are facing every day 🧵

Our greatest needs at the moment are kitty litter & dry cat food. Even 1 bag can make a big difference for a family facing financial hardship! Want to help? There are a few ways to give: 📦 Drop off unopened bags of dry cat food, kitty litter or dry dog food at a PAWS location during regular hours

Rick’s fav hobbies include exploring the house, snoozing in warm cat beds & pet caves & climbing onto your chest for cuddles. He may take a little time to warm up, but once you’re his person, expect sweet head rubs, adorable AM meows & heart-to-heart convos 💕 He’s a laid-back lover, not a fighter!

Rick gets along wonderfully with the resident senior cat & senior dogs in his foster home & has done well with older children. He enjoys being brushed, using his scratch boards, birdwatching from his cat tower & playing hide-&-seek (though he’ll probably be napping by the time you find him).

URGENT: Boomer needs a foster home ASAP! This sweetie is stressed & overwhelmed at the shelter. He seeks a foster to help decompress & feel safe again. Boomer was well-loved in his last home, where he spent his entire life until his heartbroken family was unable to keep him due to a major change 🧵

He’s a social butterfly, with tons of experience with other pups. If he gets a little excited, simple redirection does the trick & he’ll happily hang in his crate. We love a guy who knows when it’s time to clock out! Boomer seeks a savvy foster who can stay in touch with us about his progress.

More than anything, he seeks a soft landing & peaceful place to take a breath, feel safe & remember what it’s like to be somebody’s beloved dog again. 💌 Want to learn more? Drop us a line at foster@phillypaws.org! PS. Can’t foster? Please help spread the word by sharing this post!

He’s had a hard time adjusting to kennel life, including getting very stressed with veterinary handling ❤️‍🩹 Because of that stress, we’re really worried for him if he stays in the shelter for too long. What he needs is a calm, quiet home where he can relax, feel comfy & get back to his old self.

Per his previous owner, 5-year-old Boomer is a friendly, affectionate & very silly guy who is an absolute joy to have around. He’s a total cuddlebug who doesn’t let his size get in the way of his snuggles 💕 He’s a big nerd who loves to play in water & tries to eat the shower spray.

💫 Nitro & Gemini: Are you ready to rumble? They may not pass for true American Gladiators, but these 2 likely would actually LOVE an enriching & fun obstacle course to run through! Nitro and Gemini were described by their owner as being the closest duo, so we’d love to keep them together.

They may be a little bashful at first, but with some patience & kindness, you can help them feel right at home & get to know their sweet personalities! 🍌 Banana and Li’l Bug These boys are social & chatty — both with each other & other piggies in nearby cages at our adoption center.

They could be good additions to a home with guinea pigs or for folks looking to add two new piggie-shaped obsessions to their daily life. They may be a smidge shy when you first meet them, but buttering them up with some veggie snacks always goes a long way to winning them over!
