And Governor Goodhair was doing this while preparing to run for President in '28. Which says a lot and none of it good about Newsom.

David Dayen@ddayen.bsky.social

Newsom went all in on a utility industry bailout and failed. What's left of the bill stops hedge funds and private equity firms from buying insurer claims and profiting from wildfires. www.latimes.com/business/sto...

Colbert really was right about you people. And that was twenty years ago now!!

Eric Lipton NYT@ericlipton.nytimes.com

One you might find surprising. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt & members of her team have been extremely helpful in responding to questions I raise. Regardless of public facing commentary, privately they are willing to engage and address questions. And I have appreciated that. Thank you

Because Polis is at heart a Glibertarian rich guy. He's always been that. The people that ran, or run, the party are too willing to let people like Polis run under the Democratic banner if they self fund or otherwise have little trouble raising mountains of money.

Matt Ortega@mattortega.com

I really cannot understand why so many people to the left of center are so weak like this.

So normal he voted to confirm RFK Jr.! Get out of here with that nonsense!

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Buttigieg: "In my experience, Sen. Cassidy is a normal, honest, & very conservative Republican. It turns out people like that have less & less of a home in Donald Trump's Republican Party. We are seeing more extreme candidates. It's organized more & more around one man, who remains deeply unpopular"

I hope you showed this to Davo!! Haha!! Please make this person a contestant next season!! It would be great comedy when they end with like -$1500. 😂

Ken Jennings@kenjennings.bsky.social

The main thing in art and entertainment to keep your finger on the pulse of the fans and what they want, their feedback is so important.

So .. you're saying SPECTRE was kind of a documentary?

sanjukta paul@sanjukta.bsky.social

I feel like wild conspiracy theories are the collective expression of something that widespread materialism suppresses: an understanding that coordination between people really does have a (potential) quality that is magical, in the sense that it can create something from (apparent) nothing

And what are we supposed to do about it when the so-called opposition party hasn't said a word? In fact the Senate Minority Leader is quietly cheering Trump on.

Tom Nichols@radiofreetom.bsky.social

When you wonder why I castigate my fellow citizens more often than our leaders, consider that the United States is *this far* from war with a nation of 90 million people and no one seems to give a hoot. It's not like they don't know; ten minutes of watching the news would tell them.

I hope people realize what this says about a couple other NYers. Hint: It's not good!

Sean T. Collins@seantcollins.com

I feel like we've had an actual pro-democracy popular front in this country very recently, and it was Zohran Mamdani, Brad Lander, and their constituencies/political traditions joining forces to defeat Andrew Cuomo, a murderer and abuser openly supported by our pedophile dictator & his billionaires.

You can't be this gullible, Max! And if you are ... you might as well find another line of work

max tani @maxtani.bsky.social

CBS News EIC Bari Weiss had concerns about the CECOT piece, I’m told. The network decided to hold the segment pending, among other things, comment or an interview with White House officials next year…

You do know why people are pissed off at MGP over this, right? Because of the vote in the House!! No one would care if she just voiced her displeasure to an MSNBC host and left it at that.

James Hell Brooks@kleinman.bsky.social

This is exactly the type of stuff we should want representatives in purple districts to break from party orthodoxy on www.politico.com/live-updates...

Considering how deep the former Harvard President is in this stuff .. and well as some others we know ... It is really any wonder the Democrats didn't want to touch it?

David Dayen@ddayen.bsky.social

All I can think is were Democratic oppo researchers catatonic for the last 10 years?

This bozo once worked for the Washington Examiner and the New York Compost ... so of course she plays the victim and acts stupid .. guess you're angry you missed out on that Free Press money

Tara Palmeri@tarapalmeri.bsky.social

I just had a Katie Porter moment with congressional candidate Kat Abughazaleh. The interview lasted 3 minutes.

Sad to see you've turned into a Fox News host.

Sally Jenkins@sallyjenx.bsky.social

Ratio me. Please. It's a badge of honor. If you don't like a link, go follow some chicken-heart who needs the approval of the thought-police. Caitlin Flanagan of @theatlantic.com is a tremendous writer and this piece is an excellent read. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

The executives probably aren't on Twitter but they're definitely in a WhatsApp group with the Ackman's of the world.

G Elliott Morris@gelliottmorris.com

currently at record-high search interest for canceling disney plus. pulling kimmel is a bigger deal to the company's bottom line than any of the "woke" scandals of the past 5 years. i think news & entertainment corp execs need put more work into understanding their audience, & get off twitter

Did you ever look at his Twitter feed? People who say this garbage only, apparently, knew him as a name and have no clue what he actually said.

Asawin Suebsaeng@swin24.bsky.social

My main objections to his work was not what he “said,” it’s what he did. Any talk of how he enjoyed debating people for purposes of farming viral views misses the point

Did you ever ask these people whether they watch the local or national TV news? 🤔

Sarah Longwell@sarahlongwell25.bsky.social

...Voters really, really care about controlling immigration and crime. They just do. And if voters don’t think Democrats will take those issues seriously, they elect a garbage human like Trump who will seize the opportunity to expand his own power.

Underestimating the Sinister Six, you are.

Anthony Michael Kreis@anthonymkreis.bsky.social

We certainly know that Alito and Thomas would gladly walk Obergefell back. But, the Court as it is comprised of now, almost surely doesn’t have the appetite. Anything is possible, but Barrett and Roberts (I suspect Kav too) aren’t going to bite. Don’t trust them. But let’s be good legal realists.

How much money, in student loans and everything else, do places like Bob Jones, Liberty and Oral Roberts get?

Oliver Willis@owillis.bsky.social

i would absolutely love to see democrats going after colleges and universities for not being woke enough. "we're gonna need more transgender latino computer science majors or else those fed dollars are going bye bye" im not joking.

You do remember the old joke about Glibertarians, right?

Brendan Nyhan@brendannyhan.bsky.social

Where are the libertarians? Where is civil society? Do you want to live in a country where people are deported without due process into foreign gulags? Where US senators are arrested? Where the government ignores court orders and deploys the military on the streets of our cities?

You're too damn busy passing garbage bills benefiting the Monopoly money industry.

You're a fraud and phony and every bit as bad as Sinema. You voted for that crypto scam bill and in favor of Trump's corruption.

Senator Ruben Gallego@gallego.senate.gov

Meta’s platforms are a playground for scammers. They know it. They profit from it. I’m looking for ways to hold them accountable. Zuckerberg shouldn’t be able to hide behind legal loopholes while everyday people are being ripped off.
