Google Ads Support really needs to get its act together. Called me at 5 am in the morning - 3 times. Then told me I was wrong about a fault in Google Ads.

Also brilliantly co-opted into a meme song on Youtube - to be trotted out against bad-decision-making shitbags.

I'm always astounded at the number of web pages I see that don't have Canonicalization set up from the get-go.

Remember Universal analytics before the days of tag manager? You used to have to write a tag for everything that you wanted to track. It seems to me like those days are back. Why are we going backwards?

Why does Google constantly have to fiddle? - loads of ad accounts are now nagging that they don't have a Google Tag. Ours were all set up using GTM, and now it's looking like everything has to be redone - it's Tedious.

The algorithm is WILD at the moment. We saw drops of 15% on a website that has ranked well for years over the weekend only to bounce back to perfect today. What is it that they are "fixing" and then realising "oh it wasn't broken" ? #seo

Whilst writing a website using only HTML CSS and JS I have rekindled a love of something almost forgotten. The simplicity of it all. I remember the 1990s Just putting something online, the fun of having 2 interlinked pages and flashing gifs and a ticker tape. Such fun.

Currently, there seems so much written about AI overviews. Most of it is whinging. I get it though. I mean IMO they are totally crap and pointless. What value do they really add to Google? IMO google should just use AI to influence the SERPS but not show it on the front end.

Taking today as a development day. Building an old-school HTML site to examine the SEO benefits and possibilities of simple code. We've all gotten lazy with CMS's like Wordpress. they are too bloated for some tasks.

Had to get away from TWITTER (I'll never call it by its new name) It's become polluted. Can't post anything or read anything without someone making every thread about politics or immigration. YUK
