πŸ“• I just published my new book Crafting Spring Boot Starters, see www.wimdeblauwe.com/books/crafti... if you are interested! There is a free sample you can check out where you can read the foreword by Phil Webb. The full book also has a zip file with AI skills to audit your Spring Boot starter.

The cover for Crafting Spring Boot Starters is done, and the book is almost finished. Now I'm looking for reviewers: if you write Spring Boot 4 libraries and want an early copy in exchange for feedback, reply or DM me. More at leanpub.com/crafting-spr...

I recorded an episode of the Marco Show with Marco Behler from JetBrains. It was an absolute pleasure, thanks for having me. We talked about a lot: how I ended up on the Spring team, Project Leyden, GraalVM, AI, and so much more. Also available as a podcast. www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUFs...

AI pretending to be customer support is a pretty miserable experience. I don't need something pretending to be human regurgitating the FAQ page. It must also put a strain on the real support staff who now only get customers who are already angry from fighting a robot!

Imagine you're into cooking, then one day microwave meals are invented. Suddenly, all the cooking shows talk about are microwave meals. Magazines, books, ads and chefs pivot to microwave meals. Everyone will eat them and they'll be worth zillions! Anyway, let's talk about AI

Fantastic work by me throwing coffee absolutely everywhere this morning! The problem with a nice espresso machine is you need at least two coffees inside you before attempting to operate it 🀣

Hire Mark! He is not only a great advocate and speaker, but a wonderful person.

Just got caught up in the latest round of terminations from Microsoft. If anyone needs a "batteries included" advocate who really knows code, AI, and real production concerns + solutions, ping me! Ready to make great things happen for you. Onward and upward!

It seems to be "hate on Lombok time of the year" and "what has Lombok ever done for us"… I am tired. - Just don't use it if u think it stinks - Don't use it as library author so that you don't force it onto others - Use it the hell you want in your enterprise application, nobody cares about anyway

Hello #java bubble! Does it make sense to have a jakarta.servlet.Filter which are configured with none of the available jakarta.servlet.DispatcherType ? E.g.

If you were at my recent Java one or DevNexus talk this will help a lot to translate what I did in Eclipse to IntelliJ. Actually, it's even clearer than what I showed, and it's under 10 mins!

Feels weird to post about the little stuff at the moment, but I'm talking at both Devnexus and JavaOne this year about debugging issues. I'm very happy with the way the presentation is coming together. Distilling 10 years of tracker content into 60 mins is pretty challenging!

Me, wisely: All code styles are basically equivalent; each team should simply pick one and stick with it. Style wars are the sign of a lesser mind You: OK, given that, can we use my preferred style instead of yours? Me: Fuck off directly into the sun with your unreadable indentation rules, no

Hi, I'm using your software for free and have encountered a problem that I will now not even attempt to describe. FIX THIS NOW or I will stop using your software for free. Here is a screenshot of my terminal window.

Personally, I like the json logging support.

it's hard to pick just one of the features from the Spring Boot 3.4 release that I love the most! - spring framework ` @Fallback ` beans - spring-boot:build-image works with graalvm native images on Apple Silicon / ARM 64 - one time token in Spring Security - webautn/passkeys in Spring Security

I like this analogy, but I've see a few places where management don't like you touching the trays because it's not your job!
