SUPPORTING ACTOR SUNDAY #supportingactorsunday PETER JEFFREY (1929-1999) Jeffery will live forever in my mind as the indefatigable Inspector Trout from the DR. PHIBES films. What do you remember him from? 馃帴

Tonight on TCM #TCM HOUSE (1977) Nobuhiko Obayashi's weird, wonderful, horrific movie is a film like no other. When I finally saw it in the 90s, it blew my otherwise unblowable mind. It can't be compared to another other movie. It is sui generis. Essential viewing. 馃帴

Tonight on Svengoolie on MeTV #Svengoolie #metv FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLF MAN (1943) The mother of all crossover movies. Sit back and enjoy. Highly recommended. 馃帴

SUPERNATURAL (1933) One of the stranger movies in Carole Lombard鈥檚 career. Directed by Victor Halperin of White Zombie fame, Supernatural casts Lombard as a woman possessed by the spirit of a recently executed murderess determined to kill her old nemesis. 馃帴

FILM FREAK FRIDAY #FilmFreakFriday TERROR ABOARD (1933) A bizarre pre-Code murder story that has the structure of AND THEN THERE WERE NONE -- a isolated group of people are k*lled off, one by one -- except that, in this case, you KNOW the k*ller. available on YouTube. Well worth a watch. 馃帴

Tonight on TCM #TCM THE BLACK CAT (1934) Edgar G. Ulmer's masterpiece. My personal favorite of all the Universal Horror films. With brilliant performances by Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi. Essential viewing. "Did you hear that, Vitus? The phone is dead. Even the phone is dead."馃帴

Tonight on TCM #TCM KWAIDAN (1964) A Japanese masterpiece. One of the best, most influential anthology horror movies ever made. Essential viewing.馃帴

THEATER THURSDAY #theaterthursday THE DEVILS by John Whiting Based on Aldous Huxley鈥檚 non-fiction book THE DEVILS OF LOUDUN, the play dramatizes the notorious 17th-century case of Urbain Grandier, a French priest accused of witchcraft.

Tonight on TCM #TCM SERGEANT RUTLEDGE (1960) Woody Strode is magnificent in this revisionist Western made by the great John Ford. High recommended. 馃帴

Tonight on TCM #TCM I KNOW WHERE I'M GOING! (1945) One Ppwell and Pressburger's lesser known, but most wonderful comedies. Starring Wendy Hiller and Roger Livesey. Highly recommended. 馃帴

THE MAN WITH WAX FACES (1914) Could The Man with Wax Faces be the granddaddy of all those horror movies set in wax museums? I saw this at The Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood as a part of their Grand Guignol fest. 馃帴

SUPPORTING ACTOR SUNDAY #supportingactorsunday ANTHONY DAWSON (1916-1992) This Scottish actor play the slimiest of slimy villains. From Capt. Lesgate in DIAL M FOR MURDER to Prof. Dent in DR. NO he always plotted murder but was thwarted and killed himself. Worse luck. 馃帴
