Yelich. He has harped on this, especially lately. Remember he came from Florida, where this doesn’t exist. And he was close to Uecker, the center of gravity for all that. The young players have been saying it too. When you feel your work gets people where they live, it means something.

The Brewers are something we haven’t seen for a while. They are clearly the best team is baseball. That is how they played all year. They didn’t go on a run or get hot. All season they’d win two, lose one. Then they threw a switch, went for the throat.

Game 2 momentum is all about the Bauers at bat. Keeping the inning alive with 2 outs so that Yeli can knock in 2 runs off a reeling Yamamoto to put us ahead. Hamilton was the spark most of the day. And what else can be said about the consistency of Contreras and the bullpen. Absolutely lights out.

They Might Be Giants live at The Pabst Theater in Milwaukee. Out late on a school night, but in times like these gotta make a birdhouse and keep the rhythm in your soul.

Put on the Four Horseman at the beginning of the commercial break in the middle of the ninth and told the kids the game would be over before the song. Megill proved me right. 1,2,3 inning. Brewers Win!

Big day. Fixed some stuff around the house. Groceries and hardware store trip. Matinee of Coyote vs. Acme with the family. And finished the day with Shiner at X-Ray Arcade.

She was the best of us.

Dolly Parton rose from poverty to stardom. She gave $500 to every student in her hometown who finished high school; she built hospitals & bald eagle preserves; her Imagination Library has gifted 300 million books to children. Roger Ebert met her and came away thinking she was a literal angel. RIP.

Woke up early and Zeke and I took in some nature. We saw a green and a blue heron. Lots of female mallards, a few bunnies and a doe and fawn. Got stung on my finger when investigating something that landed on the back of my neck, but otherwise a nice 3.6 mile loop before 8a.

Violent Femmes just did the National anthem before the Brewers game. Instrumentation was a recorder with percussion of brushes on a Weber grill. Keeping it weird in Wisconsin.

Pavement in Chicago. Told the kids Malkmus is up there with Neil for my favorite face melters. Now they’ve seen both. Huzzah. Jack White, The Bean and Billy Goat cheezborgers on deck for tomorrow.

Last day in St. Louis. City Museum adventures and Brewers vs. Cardinals. Adventure fuel provided by Rooster and Pappy’s. Brewers got the win. Great end to a fantastic trip.

Day 2 in St. Lou. St. Louis Zoo and Laumeier Sculpture Park. Absolutely fantastic Zoo. Highlights include penguin exhibit and the stingray petting area. Kids had a blast. Had leftover Sugarfire for lunch and hit up one of my favorite chains for dinner. Need a Mellow Mushroom in Milwaukee asap.

Old man yelling at cloud here, but why are Muse tickets minimum of $90 at Summerfest in Milwaukee when you can see this tour at any surrounding city for $25? Can’t wait to see photos of a half empty venue. Absolutely ridiculous.

Did the MLB playball with the kids this morning. G$ got her glove signed by Auggie. Got home and the kids wanted to go play some more at the ballpark down the block. Now they’re down for a nap while I’m packing up supplies for tailgating at the Banana Ball game. Very baseball centric day and I❤️it!

Follow up note. Banana Ball is an unholy atrocity to the game of baseball. That being said we had a lot of fun. Not an experience I need to repeat anytime soon. Definitely understand the idea of a sensory room now.
