9. Mistral Large 4 Mistral previewed Large 4, an open-weight multimodal mixture-of-experts model of ~1.05T parameters (about 50B active per token) with a 1M-token context, aimed at coding, agents and enterprise. Weights follow the preview; public release is set for Oct 27.

10. TypeSafe Jev TypeSafe AI launched Jev in early access on Sept 15: a System One model that returns typed choices, scores and yes/no answers with calibrated probabilities instead of text. It left two years of stealth with $40M raised; available via hosted API, Vercel AI Gateway and OpenRouter.

7. OpenAI math proofs On Oct 6, OpenAI published 722 math manuscripts (372 families) on GitHub from an unreleased internal model given about 4,000 open problems. Only 162 have Lean formalizations; OpenAI warns the rest may contain errors. Model name and prompts were withheld.

8. Meta Muse Meta launched Muse on Sept 8, a personal AI agent that sends emails, books travel and shops from its own cloud VM, with a Sentinel agent reviewing internet actions. Powered by Muse Spark, it’s US-only at launch and requires approval for sensitive actions.

5. Gemini 4 Argon Google announced Gemini 4 Argon on Sept 30, a frontier model for coding, enterprise knowledge work and cyber defense,with a 1M-token output limit (up from 64K). Access is limited to trusted cyber defenders via Fairwind and the U.S. government. Benchmark results vs rivals are mixed.

6. tsc-rs (Theo’s Rust compiler) Theo of Ping Labs open-sourced tsc-rs (ts-rust), a Rust port of the TypeScript 7 compiler and language server; preview out Oct 7. The README says all 181,711 ported tests pass and it’s 1.61x faster than TS 7.

3. OpenAI dots OpenAI announced dots on Sept 29: always-on ChatGPT agents with their own cloud computer, powered by GPT-6 Astra. Rolling out to Pro and Business Premium; Enterprise beta; no API yet. They connect to 4,000+ apps and can be reached via ChatGPT, Slack or Teams.

4. GPT-6.1 Sol GPT-6.1 Sol is an upgrade to GPT-6 Sol, rolling out in ChatGPT Work and Codex to Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu users. It was reported alongside the dots launch.

1. Claude Haiku 5.5 Anthropic released Claude Haiku 5.5 on Oct 7 for high-volume work like summarization and subagents. It costs $0.10 input and $0.50 output per million tokens for prompts up to 100K, a tenth of Haiku 4.5, with a 1M-token context.

2. Deno joins Cloudflare Deno’s whole team, including creator Ryan Dahl, joined Cloudflare on Oct 9 to merge Deno’s celld with workerd for self-hosted Workers. Deno Deploy shuts in about six months and Deno runtime development ends after a year of fixes. JSR continues on Cloudflare.
