Who needs some fall flowers for today? Minnesota maroon mums with Mystic Spires Salvia behind, and unknown reseeded marigolds. All kinds of marigolds are really in these day here in the Twin Cities! #FlowerReport

Second to last week of free herbs outside the book return at the St Anthony Park library. Probably the last week for basil (lots today!).

Who knows what the plant called African Blue basil looks like? Well, this is post-summer in Minnesota. The 1st photo is 3 plants, left to bloom because bees love the flowers so. The 2nd is a close up of the flowers. The 3rd is some of the flowers next to Tangerine Gem signet marigolds. #FlowerReport

I have a love/not love relationship with New England asters. On a sunny day in late September, they’re among the best. But as plants they’re annoying to deal with! #FlowerReport

Shout out to sweet black-eyed Susans (Rudbeckia subtomentosa). Late summer to fall bloomers whose flowers last up to a month. Great in the vase too! #FlowerReport

It’s mistflower season. This US native perennial looks just like the annual ageratum, confusing everyone. Aggressive reseeder. #FlowerReport

It’s hydrangea season! Little Quick Fire is beginning to enpinken. Limelight (full size about 10’ tall and close up of one bloom) is spectacular. Both at the St Anthony Park library. #FlowerReport

We have prevailed upon the Minnesota State Fair to give us the more functional event parking racks for bike parking this year (located at Liggett and Dan Patch, just west of curbside pickup). There is also bike parking for volunteers during their shifts *inside* the fence near the Volunteer Desk.

A reminder that the plant sale catalog goes to the printer on Mon., March 16, and will be posted to our website on Weds., March 18. It should go into USPS mail by about a week from Mon. (March 23), and depending on how that goes… arrive maybe later that week.

You are up to date.
