#Brewers Dustin May is 12th pitcher in #MLB history aged 29-or-younger to start in 4+ potential clinching games. Former #RedSox is 9th in MLB history aged 29-or-younger to start a potential clinching game in a Division Series, League Championship Series and World Series (at any point in his career).

This is 4th World Series with two expansion teams. #Brewers debuted in 1969 as Seattle Pilots, moved to Milwaukee in 1970. #Rays began in 1998, bringing #MLB to its current 30 clubs. The others: 2015 #Royals over #Mets (4-1) 2019 #Nationals over #Astros (4-3) 2023 #Rangers over Diamondbacks (4-1).

Tonight is 3rd time in club history #Rays are facing elimination in the World Series, losing Game 5 of in 2008 (4-3 at #Phillies) and Game 6 in 2020 (3-1 vs #Dodgers). Coincidentally, all 3 times TBR has faced elimination in the World Series, the game has been on October 27th.

#Rays are 6-6 all-time in Game 4 of a postseason series, including 3-2 in Game 2 of a best-of-7 series overall, and 1-1 in Game 2 of the World Series. TBR lost to #Phillies, 10-2, in Game 4 of the 2008 World Series and beat #Angeles, 8-7, in Game 4 of the 2020 World Series.

#Brewers had 8 runs with 2 outs in the 5th inning last night at #Rays. 8 runs are the most with 2 outs in any single inning of a World Series game, besting #Giants in 2010 Fall Classic Game 2 (8th inning); and #RedSox in 2007 World Series Game 1 (5th inning). They both scored 7 runs with 2 outs.

#Brewers are 26th team with a 3-0 lead in a World Series. 21 of last 25 teams in such a spot won Game 4 of the Fall Classic, including 9 of the last 10 (all but 2024 #Yankees). Last WS sweep was by 2012 #Giants over #Tigers. The 13 years without a sweep in the WS is the longest in #MLB history.

A few notes now on 2026 World Series Game 4, where #Brewers lead #Rays 3-games-to-none. MIL is 43rd team to lead a postseason series 3-0. TBR is looking to become just the 11th team to force a Game 5 when down 0-3 in a postseason series.

#Brewers are the 7th #MLB team to win each of the first 3 games of a World Series while hitting just 1 home run, the first since the 2007 #RedSox. Also, #Yankees (1927, 1937, 1950), 1914 #Braves and 1910 #Athletics.

With last night’s victory at #Rays, the #Brewers are a win from joining 1976 #Reds as the only clubs to successively sweep both the Championship and World Series, and the only one to do it since the LCS became a best-of-7 in 1985.

#Brewers are just the 5th team in #MLB history to win 8 consecutive games in a single postseason. The 2004 #RedSox were the first to reach that milestone. Also 2005 #WhiteSox, 2014 #Royals, and 2019 #Nationals.

#Rays Freddy Peralta was named ALCS MVP. Peralta is 16th American League pitcher to win the award, the first since #Astros bJustin Verlander in 2017. Peralta was 2-0 with a 0.75 ERA across 3 games (2 starts) of this ALCS vs #Guardians. Allowed 1 earned run over 12.0 IP.

Monday’s series-clinching #Rays win was their 105th win of the season (regular and postseason), tying 2008 for their most wins in any season. For regular and postseason TBR is 92-0 when leading after 8 innings. The last #MLB team to go lossless over 92+ such games was 2002 #Athletics (93-0).

#Rays are American League Champions, beating #Guardians 7-3 in ALCS Game 6 in Tampa. TBR will face #Brewers in Milwaukee in the 2026 World Series starting Friday.

With this year’s performance #Guardians star José Ramírez has reached base in a club-best 17 postseason games, passing the 16-game record of Steven Kwan set in 2022-24. The last #MLB player with a longer postseason on-base streak was #Dodgers Freddie Freeman (25 games, ended October 6).

#Rays have a 2-5 record all-time in potential clinching ALCS games, including a 1-1 record in potential ALCS clinchers here at Tropicana Field. #Guardians are 0-3 all-time when facing elimination in the ALCS. Their most recent such game was Game 5 in 2024 vs #Yankees (a 5-2 loss in 10 innings).

#Rays and #Guardians are ready for ALCS Game 6 with a lot on the line. With a win tonight TBR moves on to their 3rd American League pennant in club history and a spot in their first World Series since 2020. CLE, meanwhile, looks to even up this series and force a deciding Game 7 tomorrow.

#Rays could punch their ticket to the World Series tonight in ALCS Game 6 vs #Guardians. The game is at 8:00 ET/5:00 PT. Do or die: Teams like CLE, who trail a 7-game series 3-2 after 5 games have come back to win the series 37 of 117 times (31.6%), including 7 of 23 times (30.4%) in the ALCS.

All-time #RedSox with a triple and home run in a postseason game: Johnny Damon in 2004 World Series Game 4 at #Cardinals. Kevin Youkilis in 2007 ALCS Game 5 at #Indians. Brock Holt in 2018 ALDS Game 4 at #Yankees (hit for the cycle).

#Guardians (then #Indians) were also in the ALCS on this day in 2007. #RedSox trailed 3-1 in the series that year but won Game 5 on the strength of a terrific start for Josh Beckett, who struck out 11 over 8.0 IP. Kevin Youkilis tripled and homered vs CC Sabathia that night.

#Guardians and #Rays have alternated wins over the first 4 games of this series. 2nd time that’s happened in an ALCS since it went to a 7-game format in 1985. No ALCS has ever had the teams alternate wins through the first 5 games of a series. It happened in the 1997 NLCS for #Marlins and #Braves.

In any best-of-7 League Championship Series, when a home team (#Guardians in this case) wins Game 5 they have a 66.7% chance of winning that series. When the away team (#Rays in this case) wins Game 5 they’ve won the entire series 70% of the time.

The American League Championship Series continues today with the series tied 2-games-each for #Guardians and #Rays. The winner of Game 5 has gone on to win a 7-game postseason series 46 of 69 times (66.7%), including 15 of the 22 times (68.2%) in a Championship Series.

Cold Night in Cleveland: Saturday’s first-pitch temperature for ALCS Game 4 was 46°F/8°C. Was the coldest temperature for an ALCS game since 2009 Game 1 for #Angels at #Yankees (45°F). The only colder Cleveland postseason game was 1997 World Series Game 4, with a game-time temperature of just 35°F.

#Guardians starter for ALCS Game 4 vs #Rays is Shawn Armstrong. He was with TBR from 2022-24 and is one of three pitchers all-time to appear in postseason games for both TBR and CLE (also Alex Cobb and Corey Kluber).

Last night marked the first time an American League Championship Series game was postponed since 2019 ALCS Game 4 for #Astros at #Yankees.

After a rain postponement on Friday the American League Championship Series will start again tonight at 8:00 ET/5:00 PT. Game 5 will be on Sunday at 5:00 ET/2:00 PT. Because of the postponement there will be no scheduled off-day. Game 6, if it’s needed, will be on Monday at Tropicana Field.

ALCS Game 4 for #Rays at #Guardians has been moved to Saturday at 8:00 ET due to inclement conditions. Game 5 will be played Sunday, originally a travel day, at 5:00 ET.

#Brewers punched their ticket to the World Series, which starts a week from today. But will they face #Guardians or #Rays? Game 4 of the American League Championship Series kicks off at 8:00 ET/5:00 PT. CLE leads TBR in this best-of-7 series 2-to-1.

#Guardians are two wins from their 7th ever World Series appearance, the first since 2016 when they lost to #Cubs, 4-games-to-3. CLE has not won the Fall Classic since 1948, which is the longest active championship drought in baseball.

#Rays are looking to get back to the World Series for a third time. They lost the championship to #Phillies in 2008 and to #Dodgers in 2020. TBR and #Padres (in 1984 and 1998) are the 2 #MLB clubs to reach multiple World Series but lose each series.

#Brewers punched their ticket to the World Series, which starts a week from today. But will they face #Guardians or #Rays? Game 4 of the American League Championship Series kicks off at 8:00 ET/5:00 PT. CLE leads TBR in this best-of-7 series 2-to-1.

For all-time, #Guardians are 3-3 in ALCS Game 4’s but haven’t won one since 2007 vs #RedSox. #Rays are 1-1 for all-time in ALCS Game 4’s with a win in 2008 vs BOS and a loss in 2020 vs #Astros (in a game played at an empty #Padres Petco Park due to COVID restrictions).

#Brewers join 1923 #Yankees as only #MLB clubs ever to be swept by a team in the prior postseason and come back to win a postseason series against that same club in the following season.

With Thursday’s win #Brewers are back at the World Series for the second time in club history and first time since 1982. MIL is 1 of 5 #MLB teams to never win the World Series along with #Rockies, #Padres, #Mariners, and #Rays.

#Brewers trailed #Dodgers 4-0 through three innings tonight but came back for the big win. MIL becomes the first team in #MLB history with 6 comeback wins in their first 8 games of any postseason. MIL is also the first club ever to trail in all 4 games of a best-of-7 sweep.

#Brewers are now the 6th #MLB team to sweep a 100-win team in a postseason series, joining 2004 #RedSox (WS vs #Cardinals); 1999 #Yankees (WS vs #Braves); 1990 #Reds (WS vs #Athletics); 1963 #Dodgers (WS vs NYY); and 1954 New York Giants (WS vs #Indians).

#Brewers win the National League pennant, defeat #Dodgers 6-4 in a 4-game sweep of the National League Championship Series. MIL will face #Guardians or #Rays in the 2026 World Series.

#Dodgers are 26-27 all-time in Game 4 of a postseason Series, including 13-21 in Game 4 of a best-of-seven series overall, and 8-9 in Game 4 of the NLCS. This is just the 2nd time #Dodgers trail a best-of-seven 3-0 after being swept by #Orioles in 1966 World Series.

It’s do or die time for #Dodgers. Win tonight or their season is over and #Brewers head to the World Series. In any best-of-seven postseason series for all-time, teams with a 3-0 lead in the series have won the series 41 of 42 times. The only loss was by #Yankees to 2004 #RedSox. #NeverGetsOld

Of the previous 42 clubs like #Brewers that have held a 3-0 lead in a best-of-seven, 32 have swept the series in 4 games. Five of those instances have come in the current NLCS format.

13 strikeouts for #Rays batters today in ALCS Game 3 was their most in any 9-inning postseason game since 2021 ALDS Game 2 vs #RedSox (also 13 SO).

#Guardians pitching struck out 13 #Rays today. The 102 strikeouts for CLE pitchers are the most by any #MLB team through their first 8 games of any postseason. The previous record was 100 SO by 2013 #Tigers and 2022 #Astros.

When a 7-game postseason series is tied 1-1, the winner of Game 3 (in this case, #Guardians today) has gone on to win the series 71 of 102 times (69.6%). That includes 13 of 18 times (72.2%) in the American League Championship Series.

NLCS FINAL: #Brewers beat #Dodgers 6-2 for a 3-games-to-none lead in the NL Championship Series. MIL now a win away for their 2nd-ever World Series appearance, their first since 1982, when they lost in 7 games to #Cardinals.

Of 17 teams to hold a 3-0 advantage in any League Championship Series (regardless of series length), 16 have gone on to win the series and advance to the World Series. The lone exception was 2004 Yankees, whose season ended with a historic #RedSox comeback.

NLCS FINAL: #Brewers beat #Dodgers 6-2 for a 3-games-to-none lead in the NL Championship Series. MIL now a win away for their 2nd-ever World Series appearance, their first since 1982, when they lost in 7 games to #Cardinals.

Comeback Kids: #Brewers came from behind in Wednesday’s win at #Dodgers. Was their 5th comeback with this postseason, tying them with 1996 #Yankees and 1980 #Phillies for most come-from-behind wins within a club’s first 7 games of any postseason.

National League Championship Series Game 3 underway and #Brewers already lead 1-0 vs #Dodgers on a first-pitch leadoff home run for Jackson Chourio vs starter Blake Snell. MIL leads this series 2-games-to-none.

More new openings in Houston as #Astro say 3-season manager Joe Espada’s contract won’t be renewed. Club also won’t bring back 5 of their coaches. HOU is also in the market for a new GM after firing Dana Brown in August. #Mariners have expressed interest in Espada for their open manager spot.
