Toto's Basilisk: your fraught relationship with the obnoxious dog and its obnoxious owner who live down the road leads to your death in a fantastical universe bordering your own

koko’s basilisk: you don’t think koko the gorilla actually knows sign language and when she figures it out she beats your ass

My kids love Spider-Man, but maybe the only thing they love more is "Emergency!", the classic 70s TV series they watch with my parents. We watched the original Raimi film tonight and Spider-Man saved a baby from a burning building. My two-year-old shouted "Johnny and Roy!"

Trump: "At one year, you should have 5 separate visits for vaccines rather than getting them all in the same day. I've seen proof of where they have a vaccination thing that looks like the size of a bottle of soda and pour it into a little child's body."

likely STDs that poll better than this idea because of car brain, but a built in speed governor that logged every time you went above the speed limit in a given area and sent you a ticket every X number of times would uncontroversially save more american lives than basically any other single policy

the marginal loss of privacy relative to status quo is why I'm very "ehhh" about most perceived SURVEILLANCE STATE!!! objections to thing like speed cameras. I find it hard to give much of a shit. I already assume I'm never unwatched in a populated public area. might as well be used constructively

mama always told me if i can't say anything that doesn't get me in legal trouble, don't say anything at all

companies are sourcing millions of printed books for AI labs that scan them for training data, then destroy them. printed books are more valuable because they're free of AI slop, and AI labs know destroying them is an "optics problem." www.404media.co/ai-companies...
