Can't count the number of times colleagues have surrendered critical thinking to just parroting what the LLM told them. I fear for the future of our species.

I gave claude cli a task today on a code base I didnt know and a language I only have a passing knowledge of. It spent 4 mins searching through the project files to then edit the wrong files. I spent 2 seconds searching, found the correct files and fixed in 5 mins.

We are "all in" on AI at work. So far no metrics released on productivity gains. Browsing peoples gitlab interactions I see no difference from this time last year.

With longer-running projects like this, it can be so hard to track status/progress. I try to jot notes and make todo lists as I think of them, and of course review code. But by the end, I sometimes just have to trust that Past Me has done the due diligence already and it really is ready to ship :)

2 hours after i finished work and Im still puzzling why we have an input which is uneditable and when you click on it its replaced with a textarea with a fixed height making it one line high. Its so random there must have been a reason but idk what it was

Stand ups should be about the work not the people. What work can be moved forward? What is blocked and what is left to do. To this end I much prefer focusing on the board than asking people to report in.
