β˜€οΈ Day 2 of ANTENNA's AGM is underway! We start with two of our monitoring tools, EntoScan and MiniMon, and how they can help us track insects more efficiently. #ANTENNAmeets2026

πŸŽ‰ The #ANTENNA team is together in Lesbos, Greece, for the 3rd annual meeting of the project. Thanks to our hosts, the University of the Aegean, for the welcome! On the agenda today: presentations regarding field tests, drones, forecasting and the road to Europe-wide monitoring. #ANTENNAmeets2026

Drone session! The Greek team shows how to detect flowers, dead wood and bare soil: the food and nesting resources bees need. Plus: predicting bee diversity from drone images, spotting Asphodelus ramosus, and real-time UAV-to-web-app recording.

🌍 First session: field tests. How do new automated tools perform next to traditional methods, and where do they add the most value? Leon Marshall (Naturalis Biodiversity Center) presents the Curaçao field tests.

πŸ’‘ Diopsis camera session! Joris van de Ven (Naturalis Biodiversity Center) shares data from the different field locations: what went right, what went wrong, and what comes next.

πŸ“’ The 3rd Annual General Meeting of the ANTENNA project is coming! πŸ”† It will bring together project partners on Lesbos, Greece, from 19 to 23 October 2026 to review progress, exchange results and coordinate next steps. πŸ‘‰ Follow us for updates from the meeting!

We depend on nature, not the other way around. It's time we stop pushing our best ally to the brink.

If we can’t live without water, why are we poisoning our rivers? If we can’t live without forests, why are we cutting them down? If we can’t live without soil, why are we stripping it of life? We depend on nature, not the other way around. It's time we stop pushing our best ally to the brink.

🌸How do non-native #pollinators change pollinating networks? 🐝By analyzing 2,100+ records in Chile, researchers found that non-native bees (like π˜‰. πŸ’‘ A study assessed how climate change and landscape structure affect wild bee communities. Results show that rising temperatures reduce bee species richness, but maintaining a high proportion of semi-natural habitats can mitigate these negative effects. πŸ”— doi.org/10.1111/1365... #ANTENNAexpertise

🐝 Pollinators are essential for crops and wild plants, yet data on their declines are limited and biased. Coordinated research infrastructures are key to monitoring trends and supporting pollinator conservation in agroecosystems. Read on the topic here: doi.org/10.1088/1748... #ANTENNAexpertise
