I have not used watercolors in earnest for about 30 years. Now that I’m beginning to participate in local urban sketching groups, I kinda caught the bug for it again. I need a lot of practice to get better, as I started it on the street and finished it in my studio. Plus I had a little help.

We don't use the word 'marvel' in a lower-case sense much anymore, often usurped for less fatigued or archaic words, but in its definition, this strip of Gasoline Alley is so well written, so beautifully executed, that it warrants its use & truly is 'a marvel', a wonder, an undeniable piece of art.

Some #urbansketching this afternoon at the new Inkling Art Cafe on 19th with my buddy. I’ll never not love drawing trees, but I feel like I may have overcooked this one a bit. Was trying some stuff out, some things worked, some didn’t. But drawing on this beautiful day is still a win in my book.

A painting I did of Dolly some years ago. May she see her beloved Carl again and rest in peace. The world is a little dimmer today, but what a life well lived. We love you Dolly!

This afternoon my wife and I were out & around in LQA and I had pens but no pad on me to do a little urban sketching. Grabbed a cheap little sketchbook at a drug store to remedy that & sketched this cool tree in front of the restaurant where we were eating. Been liking drawing trees lately.

These turned out a lot better than I thought they would.
