Good, affordable, accessible transport enables people to access jobs, education and training which can raise household income and can protect them from being pushed into poverty. That's why we back #BetterBuses and welcome The Scottish Government commitments on returning our buses to public control.

Today is the last day of #ChallengePoverty Week 2026. Across the country, people of faith will be taking time to remember the injustice of poverty. We would like to thank them - and everyone who has supported #CPW this week. Together, we can build a better #Scotland.

Day 6 of #ChallengePoverty Week. People in #Scotland believe in equality. Anyone can experience poor health, but poverty and poor #MentalHealth are closely intertwined. Together we can invest in a Scotland that provides real support to people with mental health problems.

Yesterday, a group of activists shared their experience with Scot Gov FM John Swinney at a special meeting for #ChallengePoverty Week - asking for justice and action on child and adolescent mental health support, warm homes, and getting rid of stigma.

Do we need to review the way we measure #child #poverty in Scotland? Today around 40 people representing Poverty Alliance members came to a special seminar. Many said now is the time for the Scottish Gov to double down on effective action to meet its poverty pledges to Scotland's children.

In a just Scotland, no-one would lose their life to drug addiction. People living in the most deprived communities in Scotland are around 15 times more likely to experience problem drug use, compared to people in the least deprived communities. Reducing drug deaths means reducing poverty.

Some recommendations for the Scottish Government to make bus travel more affordable and attractive, so we cut the #costofliving while cutting carbon, and bring services back under public control. 👇 @foescot.bsky.social @betterbusesspt.bsky.social @povertyalliance.org @getglasgowmoving.org

Get on board 🚌 The ScotGov must go further and faster on public transport. Nationwide £2 bus fare cap is first stop en route to free bus travel for all Scots. This will help people access healthcare, work and leisure, cut bills and tackle emissions www.stopclimatechaos.scot/next-stop-a-...
