Are you a dog owner? Then this may help you protect your pet! ⤵️ As a partner in the EU-funded #CLIMOS Project, we've co-developed an #EarlyWarningSystem to keep dog owners informed about the possibility of presence of sand flies in their regions. ⏩

We've focused in the vector species transmitting the potentially deadly Leishmania and provide short and mid-term information for the EU and some neighboring countries. ⏩

Let’s add some context here – data show the second summer with the highest number of tropical nights in the list was 2022, and recorded 32.34 >20ºC nights in the whole season, almost nine nights less than this year. ➡️ Read on here: predictia.es/en/blog/2026...

"[...] Let’s take a look at the #Barcelona province. What happened regarding nighttime heat in a densely populated region by the Mediterranean sea, which is warming faster than other oceans due to pollution generated by human activities?"

Well, its 32 days with record-breaking maximum temperatures over the span of the summer 2026 translated into the highest-ever number of tropical nights since records began in 1940: a total of 41.42 nights above 20ºC as average temperature in the province.

Taking into account the negative effects of excessive heat and lack of proper rest at night in the human body, we are having a look at what our latest Regional State of the Climate tool data show regarding summer nights. Read on here: predictia.es/en/blog/2026...

Do you also struggle to sleep during tropical (>20ºC) and equatorial (>25ºC) nights? We do lose sleep over increasing nighttime temperatures, so we’ve taken a look at the latest available data in our Regional State of the #Climate tool. Here's what we've found: predictia.es/en/blog/2026...

After smashing several maximum temperature records in May, the surface air temperature in Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, in South-Western #France🇫🇷, kept rising in June 2026 to unprecedented heights. [1/5🧵]

- Tropical and equatorial nights totalled one third of the month for the first time ever. - 20 out of the 30 days of June registered >30ºC, including one over 40ºC. [2/5]

- Surface air temperature presented an anomaly of +3.94ºC in June 2026, relative to the 1991-2020 reference period. This breaks the previous record anomaly by almost 0,5ºC (+3.47ºC, June 2003). [3/5]
