Absence of evidence IS evidence of absence when one would expect evidence for that thing to be in abundance. Like a god who supposedly can and does interact with the physical world regularly. Yet, absolutely no proof of any such interaction exists.

And the only reason religious people hold to any of this is because they are told to and threatened with hell if they don't. Which means they aren't good people. They are bad people on a leash.

As all cultures have always done. But of all the thousands of times magical fairy tales have been made up to explain the natural, non-magical world around us, YOUR fairy tale got it absolutely right. Sure, pal.

But you have to understand, they only ignore the parts that limit their ability to do whatever they want. They aren't going to ignore the parts that give them presumed authority over others. Come on! It's not like religious people actually GAF about you!

The first time I heard the story of Abraham and Issac, I was like "Seriously, WTF? And this is suppose to be a happy story and a behavior that should be emulated? You're his MF'ing father, you sick f*ck!" The saddest part, however, is that I remained in that faith for another two decades.

If parents waited until a child reached the age of 13 to introduce them to religion and let them decide for themselves if they wanted to believe in it or not, all organized religion would die out in a single generation.
