Instead of discussing racist comments from asshats, read about Iranian Fields Medal winner, Maryam Mirzakhani. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maryam_...
I'm not an expert on the subject but it's blisteringly obvious that radical centrism is a pillar of the fascist coalition and has been for a while.
New paper surveys thousands of residents in six cities (Berlin, Chicago, London, Los Angeles, New York, and Paris) and finds that centrists/moderates are the most anti-housing development www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
Like, I get the structural issues of LLM slop...but uh, pretty sure rank racism is not actually gonna work as a solution

There are 470 seats in Congress up for election in November. Of these only 12 candidates merited the AAUP's endorsement by meeting the criteria of supporting their excellent higher ed agenda. www.aaup.org/news/aaup-en...
I did not think I could like this woman more. Give her a Gundam
Major news this morning. Louise Lucas, a chief antagonist of Trump and Virginia Republicans (and one of the most vocal proponents of gerrymandering the state earlier this year) is criminally charged by the feds over her marijuana business:
This man should be kicked out of scientific research and made to serve his intended victims.
Guinea-Bissau Hepatitis study is dead, from one of the researchers. Incredible advocacy work to help stop this from so many, including @firedbutfighting.bsky.social Incredible reporting by so many, especially from @katherineeban.bsky.social in the @rollingstone.com
I think what's galling about all of this IS THEY THINK FASCIST ACCOMMODATION WORKS! Like, they think that removing some words but not others will actually end the onslaught by fascists on academic freedom. It's so fucking stupid. THERE IS NO WAY TO ACCOMMODATE A BULLY INTO STOPPING

Fascism came for #SocialWork accreditation last night. CSWE intends to surrender. We are removing ADEI, human rights, and social justice from our accreditation standards in 2029.

The only people allowed to criticize Medicaid are those that want to improve it. If you can't acknowledge it's better than nothing, your ideas are worse than nothing
Q: Were Medicare and Medicaid mistakes? Vivek Ramaswamy: I believe they were. I think the evidence would show that it has harmed the very people that it was created to actually help

FUCKING THANK YOU! You cannot dip your toe into the #RealCollege data and not see it.
Fonagy’s mammoth review has no truck with the snowflake generation caricature: the rise in mental health problems is real, & so is the difficulties they cause. Young people are contending with more powerful forces than I ever faced. I am in awe of their courage. www.theguardian.com/society/2026...
Was not allowed to share screenshots from today's webinar by @josheyler.bsky.social and colleagues on resisting AI use in higher education but VERY JAZZED to be in community with others who are resisting TESCREALism, AI-hype, industry boosterism, and synthetic text/epistemic pollution in academia.
I was not previously aware of this initiative. Heck yeah.
New ACE audit report: Singh et al. (1997), one of the most cited trials of resistance training for depression in older adults. Misreporting of standard deviations and impossible statistics led to many meta-analyses having artificially inflated effects. auditclinicalevidence.org/reports/ACE2...
