Talking of ipad apps, Serato has finally released Serato DJ for the ipad and given full controller support

This weekend’s todo list is longer than my arm. Top of the list is the garden that’s currently rocking the jungle look

I feel like I’ve settled into my new job now. It’s keeping me busy with a variety of thing and looks like I’ll be adding more to what I do soon

Just found Tiësto’s set from EDC this year, that’s my journey to work sorted. Some the wide shots really blow me away with just how big EDC really is

I’ve settled in to my new job, it’s been a good week. Getting home early today was a bonus, so naturally I decided to mow the lawn. Going to peel myself off the sofa shortly and start dinner

I’ve been off social media for a while, have I missed much? Started a new job this week and spent the last 3 days in a classroom

I’ve just had an email from Xbox informing me that gamepass ultimate is going back down to £16.99 per month. Definitely a welcome move

this morning I asked Google Gemini whether ChatGPT or Gemini is better. The answer has surprised me as it’s actually pretty well balanced

I’m still here, just enjoying some much needed time off work. Spent today playing 9 ball pool which is always a good thing

As 2025 comes to an end and 2026 is beginning to dawn around the world, I hope it will be a fantastic year for you all. I’ll be seeing it in at work on the night shift. Happy New Year everyone

Apple Music’s Automix feature is interesting. I was listening to music on the way to work and it kicked in and mixed from Hardwell - Take me away again into Tiësto -Adagio for strings using a combination of beat matching and hi/lo pass filters. It did a surprisingly good job. I’m impressed

Apple has announced the new M5 MacBook Pro. Looks good, had a look on the purchase page and found it doesn’t come with a power adapter. You can add one if you upgrade memory / storage / display or purchase separately. You can’t add it to the MacBook without upgrading something. Erm what?

It strikes me as an odd choice for a laptop. I get it when it comes to phones, pretty much any usb charger works for a phone but laptops need more power. Even more odd that you can’t just add one on the configuration page without upgrading something and have to venture to the accessories page

Enjoying some of the simple pleasures of a Saturday afternoon. I have a cup of coffee from my moka pot, a couple of biscuits and reading on my iPad. I could get used to this

Here we go again 🤦‍♂️

UK Government Issues New Order to Access iCloud User Data

macrumors.comUK Government Issues New Order to Access iCloud User DataThe UK government has issued a new request for Apple to provide access to encrypted iCloud user data, the Financial Times reports. The report reveals that, in early September, the UK Home Office demanded that Apple creates a way for officials to access encrypted ‌iCloud‌ backups. Unlike its previous order, the latest request focuses on the ‌iCloud‌ data of British citizens specifically. The demand is designed to aid law enforcement with investigations into terrorism and child sexual abuse. The Home Office's previous request from January sought access to encrypted user data worldwide, which triggered a diplomatic clash between the UK and U.S. governments. The Trump administration pressured the UK to discard the order and, in August, director of national intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said that the UK had "agreed to drop" its demand, at least with regards to the encrypted data of American citizens. In February, Apple withdrew ‌iCloud‌'s Advanced Data Protection feature in the UK and raised public objections to the request. It also registered a complaint with the Investigatory Powers Tribunal and supported a legal challenge from the campaign group Privacy International and Liberty. Questions remain around whether the Trump administration has relaxed its view of the issue, and whether building a backdoor into encrypted ‌iCloud‌ data for the British government would jeopardize the security of global user data.Tags: Financial Times, iCloud, United KingdomRelated Forum: Apple Music, Apple Pay/Card, iCloud, Fitness+ This article, "UK Government Issues New Order to Access iCloud User Data" first appeared on MacRumors.com Discuss this article in our forums

I’m back home, feeling pretty good as I seem to have avoided the worst of jet lag, just a little tired today but nothing I can’t handle. It’s been really good to get away and have me time to really get some perspective that I needed

I’m impressed at how much in flight WiFi has improved in recent years. Currently at 38000 ft and happily browsing the web and posting here

First day back driving on my own today, it’s always a strange feeling when you transfer and go back into training. Being back on my own is always good, but on a new line / route there’s still an element of getting the feel for it. Every route I’ve ever driven has a different vibe

Completed my assessment successfully today so from tomorrow I’m back to driving trains on my own at my new location. Looking forward to it

Assessment day tomorrow. I’ve spent the last several weeks in training after changing work location, tomorrow is my final assessment before I’m back to working on my own again. I can’t wait to be back to normal shifts

I haven’t had anything delivered by parcel force for a long time until yesterday when they’ve delivered my parcel somewhere else but not told me where 😒

Just 2 more weeks in training before I’m back out on my own and driving from my new work location. I can’t wait tbh, training is great but there’s a point where you just want to get back to a routine

Another week in the classroom learning the internal systems of the trains I will be driving going forwards. While incredibly similar to the trains I was driving (they are a related rolling stock), there are some differences which are crucial to learn.

I’ve been poking around on chatGPT this afternoon and have been pleasantly surprised with the quality of the answers it has been giving me. I like what I’ve seen so far

I’ve spent this week in a classroom covering signalling and the inner workings of the trains I will be driving. Next week is more classroom and defect handling before being assessed, then I get to do some proper driving again as I learn my new route. I’m just looking forward to completing training

I spent last week in Las Vegas, so I thought I’d post a picture from one of my visits to red rock canyon. Honestly Vegas is a wonderful place, just don’t spend all of your time on the strip

I went to my local Apple Store today and bought an AirPod cleaning kit for the princely sum of £12.95. Honestly I should have done this sooner, one of my pods was getting really quiet and I’d lost the punch of the sound across them both. I’d forgotten just how good they are, sounding like new again

I’m getting seriously fed up of people making phone calls on speakerphone in places like coffee shops and shouting into their phone. Either hold the phone to your ear or use some earbuds
