Six blue tits and two great tits were rushed to South Essex Wildlife Hospital after wooden dowels coated in glue had been left in trees and on the ground to trap birds. The birds were ripping out their feathers as they fought to escape. They are now recovering at the Wildlife Hospital.

How are there so many depraved people in the UK who want to inflict harm on animals? Please, please, please show your support to the amazing people at South Essex Wildlife Hospital who deal with horrific abuses against wildlife day in, day out.

A proposed data centre in Llanrumney, Cardiff, would cause serious habitat loss for a colony of dormice. You can ensure the issue isn't forgotten by commenting on the planning application. HURRY because the opportunity ends tomorrow. Find out how below. 👇

Someone’s whole entire life, whole entire existence, reduced to an arbitrary price. We’ve seen animals for sale for £12. We’ve seen them on sale for £5. We’ve seen them for sale for hundreds, even thousands, of pounds. Some we have seen in a multibuy deal.

Just five years after mountain hares gained full legal protection, a new exemption allows them to be hunted and killed for falconry. These native animals now face being killed for falconers' entertainment, while captive birds of prey are exploited to hunt them. A shameful step backwards.

This Halloween, think of wildlife! Here's how you can protect animals: - Ditch the fake spiderwebs... Birds and other wildlife can get tangled in webs, string, cotton wool, balloons and more, causing injury or starvation.

- Keep pumpkins out of reach of hedgehogs... Pumpkins can give hedgehogs diarrhoea, making them dehydrated, lose weight, and struggle to survive hibernation. - Check bonfires... Always check garden leaf piles for sleeping hedgehogs before lighting a bonfire.

Hampshire Police said: “They were both arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, and daytime trespass in pursuit of game (poaching) due to suspicions that they had been involved in a poaching incident in the same area just two days prior whereby 10 pheasants were killed.

Share to spread the truth! The bird shooting industry is very good at curating its image. But behind that carefully polished picture lies the truth: birds raised in barren cages, bred in their millions just to be shot.

Be the person in the room who's kind to spiders! The UK is home to over 650 native spider species. They eat millions of flies, mosquitoes, and aphids, maintaining the delicate biological balance of our homes, gardens, and countryside.

Spiders are definitely more scared of you than you are of them! They experience fear and actively view humans as massive, life-threatening predators. If you spot a giant house spider on the move these days, it's probably an adult male on the search for a mate.

Follow End Bird Shooting if you agree her death isn’t a joke. Shooters kill a white pheasant, pay a “fine” to charity and laugh it off. But she was caged, released and couldn’t hide.

A consultation is open until Wednesday 28 October over Cardiff's Llanrumney data centre. Make your voice heard: the neighbouring Rhymney River is home to otters, kingfishers and bats. The data centre could be bad news for them.

Every year, construction works around the country threaten occupied swift nests, obstructing access and destroying colonies. Campaigners have repeatedly tried to stop swift nests being destroyed by developers, but have failed.

Campaigners are demanding that the government brings in an *emergency response protocol*. There would be a clear, coordinated emergency response that protects occupied swift nests before it is too late. Sign the petition. This could actually save swifts! you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/sa...

We know AI data centres hurt wildlife. That's what this research report from the University of Hertfordshire proves. It's about Equinix's Hertfordshire Campus next to South Mimms services, but it applies to every hyperscale facility in the UK.

The Society points out that dragonflies and damselflies are indicators of freshwater habitat health, and says: "Changes in their populations can tell us much about the state of our wetlands and the wider environment."

Visitors to Eglinton Country Park in Ayrshire have been warned after reports of animal snares being set in woodland and surrounding countryside. Anyone who spots a snare should report it to Police Scotland on 101, providing photos and a location if possible.
