The second half of today's trip was haunting but an important one to make. We visited the Atomic Bomb Dome in Hiroshima. I was nearly brought to tears on numerous occasions. We haven't learned a damned thing in all these years, but the evidence is right there.

Gonna visit Don Quijote while in Osaka and get a stamp cut with my family name. Gotta decide if I should do Katakana パーマー, or a creative Kanji spelling of 波眞 which apparently could mean Spread Truth. I'm not sure if this is correct though and don't want to mess it up like a stupid foreigner.

It's really weird. Right before any huge trip I do, I always have something that happens in my life to slap me back to reality. The phone call with my brother was just such an occasion. I'll talk about it later, but it won't impact my trip, just occupy many thought cycles. Emotional whiplash.

That's it. Last day of work before vacation is done! I'm officially off now until the 28th! I can already feel myself already starting to unwind.

7 days from now I'll be on a plane to Japan. It still doesn't feel real. We will be staying for 5 days in Tokyo, 1 day in Fujiyoshida, 3 days in Osaka, with a day trip to Himeji and Hiroshima, and then finally 2 days in Akihabara. It's going to be a whirlwind. Any recommendations in those areas?
