I don't think I'm being hyperbolic here, but I feel like I’m back in my bedroom in the ’90s. There’s a little melancholy in it, but mostly joy. The memories are coming back in fragments as I play, but this section feels surreal. I remember the lighting, the colours, even the reeds on the walls.

One thousand. That's how many times I ran past this statue. That's how many times that sneaky vine would emerge and ensnare me. Only after killing the plant am I realising you can cover the hole in the floor by... pushing this statue over it. 🫣

Reading "Itchy, Tasty" while playing Resident Evil for the first time in years might be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. And if you know me, I usually make terrible decisions!

I'm facing my fears and playing horror titles with the lights off this month. Finished Silent Hill 2, and frankly I can't stop thinking about it. Wonderfully depressing. I'm working my way through Townfall. But I'd like to recommend The Stairwell if you like anomaly games. £2.49 on PSN right now.

Bloober, if you're reading this, I'm sorry for having ever doubted you. Though if I could have just one (tiny) criticism it would be less monsters in certain areas. Prison and Lakeview hotel (Respectfully). Love you. 😘

It's not a very long game, especially on normal, but it's surprisingly polished and has some fun ideas at this price point. Jump scares too if that's your thing. Doesn't really compare to Exit 8 or Platform 8, but they're my high watermark for a reason. 😎

Smuggler’s Run was one of the first PS2 games that made the world feel so much bigger than anything on the original PS. You’d spot a mountain in the distance and think, “Y’see that lump of rock over there? We’re gonna floor it and hit the top.” Seems quaint now. It is. But still massive fun.

PSA: I don't know who needs to hear this, but it's okay to enjoy a game that has reviewed "poorly". It doesn't make you less intelligent or a loser, even if internet discourse is mean-spirited and wants you to feel that way. Follow for more undercooked opinions and things everyone already knew.

They’re kicking off over on r/xbox because someone who’d just been sacked shared their experience on LinkedIn. I’m not convinced some of these people have ever spent a day in the real world.

With that said, support indie developers and small teams. They’re making some of the most creative experiences around, and they’re usually the ones taking the biggest risks to do it. Drop your favourite indie game below. I'd love to check them out.

Gotta love reading a glowing piece about how ✨ Company X ✨ is going to do great things, only for it to lay off another 1,000 people a week later.

Some 14 hours into the Silent Hill 2 Remake and it just... keeps going. Currently at the Labyrinth so I know I'm in the endgame now. The odd minor criticism here and there, but Bloober have done such a great job at capturing the fear I first felt when I played the original 25 years ago.
