The next time you get told that Anthropic is 'one of the good guys' just remember that you and 49 of your mates would have to die/be maimed before a lawmaker can even consider blocking one of their models released. www.politico.com/news/2026/10...

Sam Altman says that "the world should accept some bad things happening" for the benefit of AI. We say: no fucking way. Pull The Plug is fighting for a future where people, not profit, shape our future with technology and AI. Help us piss off Big Tech even more, donate to us via the link in bio!

Yet again, Big Tech's demands have been placed atop the pecking order, drowning out the voices of the local communities that this government pretends to serve. This is not democracy, and this is not true representation.
Britain’s state-owned electricity system operator has awarded Palantir a £21mn contract without inviting rival bids, arguing critical processes are too reliant on its tech to run a competitive procurement process Latest for @financialtimes.com: as.ft.com/r/7fe6c0b7-2...

Are Big Tech (and our pathetically obedient government) intent on ruining anything infused with fun and joy? Privacy is becoming a luxury that we aren't privileged to. Waiting for the "virtual festival" experience costing £3,000 any day now.
Boomtown was once infused with a carnivalesque clowning of corporations. It was “Catatonically opposed” to and gleefully satirized surveillance capitalism. Now, it's become a vast data-harvesting farm for the cops and Big Tech. Live Nation strikes again. Sad to see. Recuperation writ large!
Claude, ChatGBT and Grok all going down last night sets a worrying precedent for humanity if we continue to rely more and more on AI infrastructure. If AI ends up in our hospitals or police stations (a mortifying thought in and of itself) and a similar AI power outage occurred, what happens then?
If this makes you mad - we are too. We're calling for a moratorium on data centres in London, Wales and Oxford. Link in bio to sign our petitions 🔗
A FOI (freedom of information) submitted by Global Action Plan has found that the UK government doesn't even know what all these data centres will be used for. Whilst 3/4 of the UK exists in drought, and we have over 500 operating data centres, there is simply no justification for this.
