The physics are decent, but the collision detection isn't as great, which can be frustrating. It looks nice, though, with the kind of abstract, isometric graphics that were all the rage after Marble Madness. The music is also pretty atmospheric and memorable. Another one by Melbourne House.

My latest musical acquisition: “Moog” by Dick Hyman (yes, ha ha, funny name) from 1969 (yes, ha ha, funny number). I’d been looking for this album for a while and I found a copy of it (not thru Discogs). The gatefold cover is pristine, and the vinyl looks immaculate…

…but the problem is the pressing is horrible! Loads of pops, clicks, and surface noise. I took a really close look at it after I played it and I couldn’t see a scratch or other imperfection anywhere. It must be either a bootleg or just bad vinyl. I’m disappointed, but them’s the breaks sometimes.

Oh, and why was I so interested in this particular record? A clue is on the side 2 track list. Strangely, that track hit #38 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1969, despite its length. Fortunately, archive dot org has a copy of this album for your retro dining and dancing pleasure.
