kittten, daddy has to be honest, they're not sure if they will survive the fact that Ryusuke Hamaguchi's critically acclaimed 2026 film All of a Sudden has, as of yet, not been scheduled for a theatrical release in Finland

i am going to go back to caring about the oscars just to say that this better get a couple of big nominations to motivate a local distributor to pick it up. i wish global film distribution didn't hinge on the bad tastes of hollywood people to the degree that it does but that's the world we live in 😭

This is Miyamoto. There will be a Nintendo Implication this Thursday featuring approximately 30 minutes of unclear statements one might construe as alluding to games coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 system at some point in time. We hope you tune in.

there's actually very little you can do that isn't a movie reference. if you're at your house, that's an Ozu reference; if you go to a restaurant or a bar, that's a Hong reference. and before you even think about escaping to the countryside for the story's 2nd half, that's Hou AND Weerasthakul

i have a lot of complaints about the place where i live but continental europe's liberal attitude towards taboo art and artistic expression in general isn't one of them, especially given, you know *gestures vaguely towards the anglosphere*

the thing that made me stop watching "Is Cars 3 Secretly Communist"-style youtube content was the realization that video essayists have social & financial incentives to cover movies, shows, and games many people are fans of and would thus enjoy watching videos about

all i'm saying is that if the biggest pop culture products on the planet happen to be "important stories we need right now", worthy of endless discussion and debate, that's really convenient for youtubers who can make money talking about them!
