I'm primarily over at mastodon.social/@purpleidea because open source tooling is a better way to go, but I might use this as a primarily write-only feed (like I do with twitter/X now) for folks interested in getting notifications about new blog posts, and other more notable events.

Some big news! #mgmtconfig has been approved as a recipient of the "NGI0 Commons Fund" from the "NLnet foundation". mastodon.social/@purpleidea/... There will be money to pay some of you to complete upstream tasks. If you're interested please let us know. nlnet.nl/project/mgmt...

nlnet.nlNLnet; mgmt configmgmt is a fast and modern automation tool for managing services and servers. It lets users model how that infrastructure should look, behave and react over time. Instead of separating provisioning, configuration management, and orchestration, it unifies these concepts and lets you build elegant distributed systems while also running as a distributed system. It can manage anything from home labs to full production infrastructure and helps organizations reduce operational overhead while repatriating workloads. Within this grant the project will among others work on performance enhancements, add new models, function error locations and lsp/syntax highlighting, improve documentation as well as making it easier to import automation rules from external resources.

My #mgmtconfig talk is TODAY at #CfgMgmtCamp at 14:50 sharp! (B.Con room) I'll be giving a different kind of talk today. Less hardcore internals, more "real-production, boring use-cases". Come early for the pre-show! cfp.cfgmgmtcamp.org/ghent2025/ta...
