Hot Take: Don't use LLMs to write your code. Brain rot is real. Instead use them to research alternative solutions you didn't know of for your specific problem. Let them give you a step-by-step guide you can follow along. Anyone knows of a good skill for that already?

And then put a lot of effort into code review. Have multiple passes of review on your code with specific goals, e.g. performance, security, team specific alignments, etc. Don't let AI write these changes, do it yourself.

Kids were sick, the terrain system I wrote wasn't good enough, scope with chunks too big. Lost motivation. Today said to myself: screw it, use a small map, and Unity's Terrain System. It's actually gotten pretty nice now and I immediately got my motivation back after being able to quickly do stuff ๐Ÿฅน

Almost one week without writing code? Nah! I figured I need better looking terrain (than just the flat plane) and I will need some kind of chunk system. So let's write one, why not. I mean, I already did that some months ago ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ’ป #gamedev

Just finished the latest Atomic Heart DLC and I'm in love! Everything is so well made! And the reunion with Katya is so wholesome. It feels they are preparing for Atomic Heart 2, and yet it's "just" the last DLC.

This art style is ๐Ÿคฏ It looks both 2D and 3D at the same time.

So excited for the fantastic team at @hinterland.bsky.social . We just announced BLACKFROST: The Long Dark 2, at @thegameawardsfeed.bsky.social. Can't wait to bring you into this new world and a different take on the "quiet apocalypse". www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wlt...

Finished drag support for the heightmap brush and performance is fine without even booting up the profiler... weird ๐ŸŽ‰ I can now sculpt a much smoother terrain surface ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Next up is a better terrain shader and a vertex color painter. #gamedev #madewithunity
