I am supposed to be running a 3K tomorrow night, but work has been kicking my butt so much. I think I’m going to try and leave a smidge early so I have enough time for packet pickup. Just need to check with my boss and make sure I don’t need to work on Saturday.

I have been complaining a lot lately. We have 2 people effectively in my department (though I only do the work I’ve done for the past week when the workload is very high). Even with nose to the grindstone and extra hours we are getting behind.

This made me laugh. I don’t strongly care about the sanctuary seating, but I am glad that it has enough spacing and sections at the front and back for people who use walkers or wheelchairs. Also, I am pretty sure I make that face regularly.

UUs believe in growth, change, and transformation. But we also love the familiar things that make our communities feel like home. 💛 Change is part of growing together. And it's okay to need a minute to adjust—even when we welcome it. 😉 #UnitarianUniversalist #UU #UUMemes

I have 20 rows and a bind off on my shawl, but I don’t know if the color I am working with has enough yardage for all that. Of course, I am on my lunch break and my super accurate molecular gastronomy scale is at home.

I checked mine a couple of weeks ago, but I still double checked today in case of shenanigans.

Over a dozen states have important voter registration deadlines today. Check your registration and make a plan to vote at IWillVote.com. Then ask friends and neighbors to do the same.

Today was a community day at church, a small gap and then a two-hour choir rehearsal. I should be exhausted, and I am, but I did so little me stuff that I am up and on my phone like I’ll have no regrets in the morning.

Today I am making a pineapple upside down cake and pineapple fried rice for dinner. I leave for crafting soon, so I started rice in the instapot so I have one less step in the evening. Because everything feels like a lot lately I even have a checklist.

This morning was my first run in over a week (maybe 2, does time mean anything?). I have finished the docs for the community fair on Sunday, sent some emails, did an online order, and a few other things. I still have a half dozen things that need to happen. May I find time to craft for my sanity.

Dinner was tasty, but it took about 1.5 hours. It is only feasible because I had today off from work. Tomorrow is similar as I “finish” up pancake week with crepes with a sautéed mushroom filling.

I have today off. My kid is still in bed. I have answered (1) work email, because I would otherwise be thinking about it all day. I folded prt of laundry mountain, done a tiny amount of dishes and am working my way through my coffee. Happy Thursday!

I scream sang Am I Evil? (Metallica, ~1984) a ton. One of my friends made me a video collection, Tall Sweaty Humans with Guitars. It had other Metallica and Scatterbrain’s I’m Not Going Down With The Ship (1990).

Name your fav 80s Metal Song.

The kid had a sleep over last night. I picked him up around 10:30 this morning. Within 30 minutes of getting home he was asleep on the couch. It made for a quiet day of reading and cross-stitch before heading to choir.

The dishwasher just made its pleasant I’m done sound, so soon it will be time to put away some dishes before reloading the dishwasher and washing hopefully a few dishes by hand. I was planning to start 310 today. It is a Witchy Stitcher ode to 310, black floss in DMC.

I just saw the Jessie Blue post about not wasting their time with the please clap, basics of adulting. I have never wanted to post about minutia more than after reading that. So, I made coffee this morning rather than buying it on my way to work. Please clap.

So, leg day and Body Pump kicked my butt, legs, arms and the core I gave up for Lent back in the 20th century. I woke up around 4:30, but I did not go for a run. I just lay in bed noting which parts were sore when I moved them. It was all of them.

It wasn’t necessarily intentional, but our upcoming choir concert with a Heal The World theme is very UU. So many songs where I have sung versions at church. Right now that means I have “I Believe” stuck in my head.

I have a pair of jeans with decorated front and back pockets that are otherwise really worn. I just took them partway apart, and now I am trying to figure out my next steps to add both sets of pockets to a swag tote. Ideally, the front pockets would come with the entire front and be 3 pockets!

At 20, I was depressed, broke as all get out and working multiple jobs to try and pay rent. I hadn’t finished college for money reasons and was understandably miserable. My 20-year old self would be thrilled that things hadn’t stayed the same.

I don’t necessarily need to mute every name of every horrible person in the Trump administration, but I am getting awfully tired of seeing Kash Patel’s perpetually surprised face with a variety of unsuspecting farm animals.

If I get to retire, I am going to spend a month cleaning a thing or two, crafting more than a thing or two and reading. Then I am going to volunteer. It feels like forever, though realistically I could retire in ~15 years should I be so lucky. (Brought to you by wanting to sleep in and knit.)
