Yale's spring 2026 youth poll: 18–22 year-olds now favor Democrats — a flip from R+12 a year ago. Is this the "Gen Z 2.0" (pandemic-shaped) cohort pulling the average, or just young voters being more volatile than anyone modeled?

The "Gen Z stare" is everywhere — that blank, expressionless look young workers give customers in service jobs. Older folks call it rude. Gen Z says it's just the neutral face. Is this a disrespect issue, a social-skill gap from pandemic years, or every generation hating the next one?

A viral video this month showed a Gen Z employee telling her boss, "lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine," when asked for after-hours work. The reply broke containment because it's a fight every generation is still having.

Tax day. The Oscars. State of the Union. Super Bowl. First day of spring. Each of these predicts American mood for about 72 hours. Then the data flattens back to the same baseline. Our calendar has rituals. Our collective psychology doesn't keep their beat.

The last time 70% of Americans agreed on anything, Netflix was mailing DVDs. Polls keep showing majority agreement on dozens of issues — minimum wage, infrastructure, background checks — but nothing moves. Is "public consensus" still a real thing, or just a number on a chart?

Artemis II just flew farther from Earth than any humans in history. They watched a solar eclipse from the moon. Named a crater after a crew member's late wife. And Trump proposed cutting NASA's budget by 25% this year.

NASA's entire annual budget is roughly what the US spends on the military in 4 days. The Artemis program costs less than most weapons systems. But it's on the chopping block.

Torii Hunter — one of the greatest outfielders ever — called it: "Probably the greatest defensive game I've ever seen." That's not hyperbole. That's a Hall of Famer who's seen everything.

OpenAI's stated reason for killing Sora: "Compute demand grows. We need to make trade-offs on high-cost products." The future of Hollywood was shut down because it was too expensive to run.

The Bluesky consensus right now is brutal: The hype was the product. The fear was the marketing. The journalism was the distribution. What did Sora actually change? Drop your honest take 👇

Trump: "I'd love it. I think it's great." Fetterman (D): "Incredibly generous." TSA union: still waiting for Congress to just... pass a bill. Meanwhile agents are sleeping in their cars to save money on gas.

Federal law may make it illegal. Government employees can't receive outside pay for official duties. So the world's richest man offered a solution Congress won't — that Congress also won't allow.
