My neighbor was singing in Hindi today with his windows open. My mind went to the people that would be upset by this. They have no joy. They have no curiosity. It is a beautiful thing to hear something new in a world of sequels and remakes within our own culture.

I don't have anything meaningful to add about the Bioware news. I'm just angry. The cultural destruction that has been wrought at the hands of venture capital will probably be spoken of in the same tone as the Dark Ages. The burning of the library at Alexandria. Recovery will take lifetimes.

I got resurrected from certain death by a vampire- but it's cool it wasn't that kind of resurrection. Played a game of 52 card pickup while being attacked by pirates. Attended a lecture about lecturing on magic. Made my own cocktail called Margot's Mix that is simply "a little bit of everything".

Reminder: The people who make your video games are humans. When attending Blizzcon as a dev they have a billion things demanding their attention. Not getting the exact reaction you wanted in this setting isn't an indication of how that might've gone in a quiet room with their full attention. Ffs.

Utterly ridiculous it spread like wildfire as it did. Terran has consistently time-after-time fought for inclusivity within Warcraft throughout his entire tenure at Blizzard.

I don't know why I didn't expect complicated feelings around missing Blizzcon. I guess that's what it means to be carrying trauma around. Still glad that my friends and colleagues are getting what they wanted out of it- that's important! But man am I in a weird headspace today.

On the one hand- WoW used to be my life. Wake up. Go work on WoW. Go home. Play WoW. All my social groups online and in person were associated with WoW or work (again, on WoW). I did not have a healthy relationship with my career. I know that now. I did eventually find balance!

This will be the first Blizzcon I've missed since I started attending in 2010. I've disconnected from the Blizzard ecosystem in a way I would've found unimaginable even 3 years ago. Surprisingly little FOMO. Just hoping my friends are in for a great weekend. :)

This is especially meaningful to me because of how I left back in 2020. I had no hope that things could get better. Thank you so much for proving me wrong. Congratulations. Blizzard folks truly are some of the best in the business and now they have the breathing room to ply their craft.

Dylan is an excellent lead and designer and you'd be so lucky to get to work with him! Big opportunity for a junior designer. :)

My team is hiring an Associate Encounter Designer! We'd love a WoW PvE subject matter expert who can switch between player and designer brain. Lua scripting and some design work as an amateur is a plus. Our work gets a big spotlight and the people you'd be joining are wonderful humans and devs.

Didn't like an indie game I picked up. It was 8 dollars. I am not going to refund it and I'm not going to leave a negative review. They worked hard to make the thing and I bought it and don't regret giving it a shot. Maybe the next thing they make will be more to my tastes. :)

Hey yall realize that refunds and negative reviews impact their ability to make more and better games, right? If you earnestly want to give actionable feedback and support indie devs without actively hurting their business, leave comments on the steam discussions page. Like. Use your common sense.

It's much cooler today. I put away my dishes and loaded my dishwasher. My sink is empty. I made an amazing sandwich for lunch and cleaned up after myself so my kitchen is still clean. I'm mildly annoyed that this is such a mood boost lol

My remaining cat Winston has become such a vocal little beast. I'm curious... did I not notice it before or did Boswell stifle his screams? I get yelled at when I disturb him in bed. I get yelled at if I look at him across the room. I get yelled at if I pass near the food bowl. He screm.

Week 2 is going well. I really feel like I'm making a difference already. This team is so collaborative and open, right up there with the best teams I've ever worked with. Still very new, but I am swimming in a sea of green flags.

Mission and quest design is this weird cubby of design where you kinda need the whole game as a palette so you can paint something new with it. Developing a pipeline to get things made while the whole game doesn't exist yet is uh. Hard. This is in reference to every project I've worked on.
