Religious freedom doesn't give you a blanket ability to deny your constitutional duties as an elected or appointed official. If our governor religiously believed his term was more than 4 years doesn't mean he gets to stay 5, and Kim Davis has to give people their damn marriage licenses.

I feel like I'm living in an insane asylum. Everybody sees what's going wrong, but nobody's doing anything. Too much to lose, until it's all gone anyway. Me included.

Fairness does not mean treating everyone exactly the same—it means accounting for different circumstances. It is not discrimination when a cancer patient gets free ice cream and you don't. Due to affinity bias, the removal of DEI policies will lead to uniformity, inequality, and exclusion.

I don't know if rich/poor is the right lens to use to improve society. It's certainly a problem, but I don't know if an us/them mentality helps. I feel so confused about what actions can cause *lasting* change for the better.

It's a travesty how much social media has become a hate machine. Can platforms promote positive social interaction while being profitable? I hope bluesky can be like that.

I'm realizing more and more that the answer to extreme political rhetoric from people is not to try and debate them, but to feel love, empathy, and especially humility. I think maybe people are more open to ideas when you humble yourself. I know that swallowing my own pride is so painful

I want to love humanity, but I find it so hard sometimes. We know what are problems are, and yet we don't seem to make a dent in them. If we just work together, we could easily tackle climate change, homelessness, addiction, etc. I know we can... and yet we don't.

When is there gonna be a laptop where the whole area *below* the keyboard is a touchscreen with pen support? Virtual trackpad that could be moved around. Somebody has to have thought of it.

You are up to date.
