LGBTQ+ rights are human rights. I’m proud to receive 100% from the @hrc.org on their official Congressional Scorecard this year! As the LGBTQ+ community continues to be attacked by this administration, I remain dedicated to defending equality for all. Learn more about the scorecard here.

Yesterday, I visited the National Public Housing Museum in Chicago. The museum finally opened last year, after years of advocacy. Their work preserves the history of the many Americans who fought to create public housing in the United States.

As a senior member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Housing, I’m fighting to improve our public housing and make sure everyone can afford a roof over their head.

A founding member of CEC's Trans Equality Task Force, Vice Chair @quigley.house.gov helped lead the opposition to a set of anti-trans rules proposed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services earlier this year. Our community is lucky to have a fighter like Rep. Quigley!

October is LGBTQ+ History Month!🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🎉 In 1970, Chicago’s very first Pride was held in our very own Washington Square Park. I’m working with the LGBT Hall of Fame to secure a plaque that shares this special piece of history. We must remember what it took to get here, and how far we can go together.

It was great to see so many of my Wicker Park constituents at BooPalooza this weekend!👻🎃 During these turbulent times, it’s incredibly important to make time for our community and remember what matters.

The future of Ukrainian refugees in Chicago is in limbo. Over 100,000 are worried they could be sent back into a war zone.    That’s why I’m leading a letter with @repvalhoyle.bsky.social and Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick.

With temporary protections for Ukrainians in limbo, there is fear and uncertainty: ‘Please help us’

Together, we’re working to ensure Ukrainians with Temporary Protected Status can attend their immigration hearings and interviews safely.    If you have questions about TPS, my office can help. Visit quigley.house.gov/help to get started.

This weekend, a U.S. servicemember died on a college football field during a pregame demonstration. Tech. Sgt. Ian Patterson was a decorated 15-year Air Force servicemember who trained the next generation of airmen. I want to extend my deepest condolences to his fellow airmen and loved ones.

I’m calling for a full and independent investigation into Sgt. Patterson’s death. His family deserves accountability, and the American people deserve answers.

His death is also a failure of leadership. That’s why I’m pushing articles to impeach Pete Hegseth and remove him as Secretary of Defense. Our servicemembers need safety—not showboating.

An official White House account used a slur for people with Down syndrome to attack a reporter who questioned the President. Americans shouldn’t be surprised—because this is who they’re working for.

This afternoon my Chicago office received a second suspicious package in the mail. We notified the Chicago Police Department and U.S. Capitol Police and are assisting in the investigation.

This is clearly another effort to scare and intimidate elected officials, public servants, and voters in the lead-up to the coming midterm elections.

I am again calling on my colleagues and political leaders on both sides of the aisle to condemn political violence in the strongest of terms and turn down the temperature of political discourse.

The Trump administration is trying to gut the 1973 Endangered Species Act—but I have a bill that can stop them. As Co-Chair of the Animal Protection Caucus, I’m leading the Safeguarding Endangered Species Act with Rep. Fitzpatrick.

chicago.suntimes.comTrump is gutting the Endangered Species Act, putting dozens of Illinois species at riskThe Trump administration is rolling back Endangered Species Act protections. Bees, birds and dozens of species could be in danger.

This bill will reverse the administration’s recent rule eliminating habitat protections. We need to stick up for American wildlife and the endangered species around us.

FALSE: Vladimir Putin is a war criminal.

Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff to Vladimir Putin today: “You talk so much about Trump being a humanitarian, you are a humanitarian also, sir. And I salute that. I commend you.”

Yesterday, the President of the United States used an antisemitic slur in a campaign speech. He also used the word in a speech a year ago—and claimed he “never heard” that it’s offensive.

Trump says the press smeared Roger Marshall as "a shylock type guy"

Antisemitism anywhere is a threat to Jewish people everywhere. As Americans, we must condemn it in full force. I stand with my Jewish friends and denounce this language and the continuous pattern of anti-Jewish hate.

Hatred has no place in America.

I recently spoke at Roosevelt University’s American Dream Reconsidered conference. As a proud Roosevelt alumnus, I was honored to join this discussion on how the Founding Fathers condemned authoritarianism and how we can continue to preserve democracy today.

Under this administration, the average household in my district was forced to spend an additional $5,800 on essentials like housing, healthcare, and groceries. My constituents can’t afford this. To bring prices down, we need to reverse these tariffs and end the war with Iran.

The number of Americans on SNAP has reached the lowest level in 17 years, but the economy hasn’t improved. That means families are going hungry. Make no mistake—this is a direct result of Trump’s Big Ugly Law slashing food stamps with the largest cuts in years.

cbpp.orgSNAP Participation Has Dropped to Its Lowest Point in 17 Years, Even Though Economic Conditions Haven’t ImprovedThe number of people receiving SNAP food assistance has declined sharply in recent months, even though there is no sign that the decline is due primarily to an improving economy.

There’s only one week left to submit your app to the Congressional App Challenge. If you’re a middle or high school student who has ever had an idea for an app, now is your chance to build it. To be considered, submit your app to www.congressionalappchallenge.us by Monday, October 26th.

I enjoyed meeting with our neighbors at Forest Glen Community Club’s annual meeting! It’s always great to meet with our community members and hear their concerns.

I recently joined Metra officials in a press conference to celebrate their new battery-powered trains. As the company begins replacing its diesel-fueled trains with new, zero-emission electric train cars, our communities will enjoy quieter rides, cleaner air, and more sustainable transit.

I recently spoke at a press conference at Endeavor Health Hospital in support of funding for breast cancer research. Endeavor Health is joining the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation's Chicago Breast Cancer Research Consortium.

As we honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I want to thank everyone who is contributing to the Consortium and bringing us one step closer to a cure.

I’m leading an effort with @repjimcosta.bsky.social and my fellow Co-Chairs of the Ukraine Caucus to make sure the United States delivers on the Russian sanctions we promised. We must continue defending Ukraine and enforce the law we just passed a few weeks ago. Read more below.

politico.comBipartisan House group urges Trump to enforce Russia sanctions, scrap diesel dealThe lawmakers' demands add to growing bipartisan pressure on Trump over his diesel deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Today, my district office in Chicago received a suspicious package similar to those received by elected officials around the nation. We immediately notified the Chicago Police Department and U.S. Capitol Police, and my office evacuated as a precaution.

Political violence has no place in a democracy, and efforts to scare or intimidate the public in the lead-up to an election must be resoundingly condemned. I hope that the perpetrator is swiftly brought to justice.

I'm glad the Congressman and all temple attendees are safe, and I echo his call to the FBI to classify this attempted attack as a hate crime. We need to take hateful speech seriously to prevent future attacks from occurring.

Three children and a teacher were shot and killed at an Oregon elementary school yesterday. My thoughts are with the Silver Rail Elementary School community, and my deepest condolences go to the victims and their families.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing. But it is clear nonetheless that our nation must do more to address how widespread mass gun violence has become, including through gun violence prevention measures and improved access to mental health care.

This week, I joined volunteers from the Chicago Food Depository to pack meals for those in need. We packed over 11,000 lbs. of food feeing over 9,000 people. At a time when so many Chicagoans saw their SNAP benefits cut from the Big Ugly Law, we need to ban together and help those most vulnerable.

I’m glad that @congressmanraja.bsky.social, his family, and his entire temple are safe. I hope the perpetrator is brought to justice and I commend the community members who reported the plot, likely saving many lives. The recent wave of anti-Indian racism is deeply concerning. More below.

Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi@congressmanraja.bsky.social

My family and I were worshipping at our Hindu temple in Aurora on Sunday when a white supremacist attempted a mass shooting targeting Indian Americans. I'm grateful to those who prevented a tragedy, but we must all come together to confront the hatred that put so many innocent lives at risk.

Every American deserves to live and practice their religion without fear, regardless of their faith or ethnic background.    We must all work together to stamp out hatred, and those perpetuating racist, bigoted ideals must be called out.

I’m cosponsoring @joaquincastrotx.bsky.social’s Stop the Settlements Act to stop the illegal land grabs in Gaza and the West Bank.  This bill will deploy sanctions to halt the construction of new settlements and stop the expansion of existing Israeli settlements on Palestinian land.

Joaquin Castro@joaquincastrotx.bsky.social

The Stop the Settlements Act would sanction anyone looking to take Palestinian land in the West Bank or Gaza. And support keeps growing. Since I introduced the bill alongside Reps. Dean, Beyer, Casar, Jacobs, and Escobar, over 50 members have now co-sponsored.

If the President really wanted to lower prices for Americans, he would bring our troops home and end his war with Iran immediately. There’s no other solution.

Survivors who speak out display incredible strength and bravery in pursuit of justice. I stand with this woman and applaud the young women who stepped in to protect and defend their friend.   I urge the University to complete a thorough investigation and ensure any perpetrators face consequences.

Trump’s recent actions on Ukraine prove what we have always known: his top priority is pleasing Putin first, everything else second.

The day after Russia killed 30 Ukrainian civilians, Trump lifted sanctions on Russian diesel and vowed that the US will buy it—even though Russia is bankrolling Iran in the war the President’s waging.   None of this will bring down prices at home. All of it will embolden our adversaries.

Today is Wadee Remembrance Day in Illinois. Wadee Alfayoumi was a six-year-old American boy who was brutally murdered in a hate crime targeting his Palestinian and Muslim identity.

Every child, no matter their race, ethnicity, or religion, deserves to live safely. Today, we honor Wadee by condemning violence and fighting hate.

Donald Trump has spent a decade attacking Rep. Ilhan Omar with disgusting, racist smears, putting her safety at serious risk. This raid was an abuse of power intended to intimidate Rep. Omar and send a message to Trump's political opponents ahead of the midterms. I stand with @ilhanmn.bsky.social
