This is my first official post on here. Everything prior to this post was an automated import from the other place. Now, I guess it's time to rip off the Band-Aid and actually move over here for real.

I swear I have another box full of cables around here somewhere. I need another empty box anyway for full-size type-B cables. But this is a huge improvement.

Does anybody want a 2U rackmount DMG GameBoy for chiptunes? Because I have plans for one, and really want to build it, but I have absolutely no use for the thing and can't afford a useless project, so I'd love to build this thing for somebody who would actually use it...

The LCD Jewel project is still in the works, it is moving to a new MCU. The ESP32-P4 is a powerful video enabled MCU that is designed for multimedia, which is what I want the Jewel to do. Here is my first PCB Test, I am just waiting on the P4 to drop for mass manufacturing.

I'm just now getting over having COVID, which I caught just as I was finishing up moving years worth of stuff out of my old office. Now all that stuff is boxed up, and it will be awhile before the new office/lab is set up, so if you don't hear much from me for a bit, that's probably why.

That being said, as soon as I get a barebones workbench set up, I have some cool stuff to share from my recent PCBWay sponsorship, so hopefully I can get that all posted soon. I'm really happy with the results, now it's time for me to keep up my end.

I've blocked a handful of accounts that were interacting with the automated uploads. I tried to check if they were real people or just content farms before blocking, hopefully there weren't any false positives. Not interested in dealing with bots here, that was kind of the point...

I'm glad that they figured out a way to avoid abusing the upload date field, but I think they went about the UI backwards. I wish it displayed the date I gave them as the primary post date and footnoted the "real" post timestamp instead of the other way around. @support.bsky.team maybe reconsider?

Weird. Looks like somebody is going through compromised data dumps and testing card numbers on Ebay. I've gotten multiple fraudulent charges from Ebay for several hundred dollars that were immediately reversed. They also tried an old card number that hasn't worked for years.

Looking to do a playthrough of Sea of Stars with the kiddos now that the multiplayer update is out, but I have to decide, NG+ or not? I'm leaning toward not, regular new game, but on easy difficulty. Having all gear at the start feels like it takes away some of the experience.

Yes, grinding for new gear at every new town is annoying sometimes, but it didn't feel like there was too much of that, and just never getting any new gear at all feels lame. Also, no finding seashells. And fights tend to be OHKO, which is lame.

My 6-pin SOT test socket breakout boards turned out great. The pin number text is a bit obscured on the SOT-23 board, but I can live with it. Huge improvement over the original garbage they came with. I'm calling this one a win.

Since it looks like somebody has started claiming and squatting on usernames of people in the retro space over at the other place, I just wanted to reiterate that my username over there is me, I just haven't used it yet. I probably will eventually, but just FYI.

We can officially retire the "X has the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever" meme. It's done. Pack it up. Nothing can ever top The Onion buying InfoWars.

Rewatching Arcane Season 1 now that the new episodes are out and holy shit I forgot how good that final sequence was. What Could Have Been is absolutely haunting.

PSA: Don't install high-MERV/HEPA filters on your HVAC inlet unless it's specifically rated for them (and it probably isn't). Best case, you'll get terrible flow rates and decreased performance. Mid case, you'll trip safety sensors. Worst case you'll burn up your motor.

Everybody is talking about those chinese knockoff dyson impellers, and part of me wants to shove one into a 3D printer toolhead for part cooling. Most of me knows that's a crazy, terrible idea, but that one part though...🤣

PSA: GuliKit TMR stick boxes don't appear to have any lubricant in them. Pack some silicone/PTFE (SuperLube) in there before installation. A little goes a long way. I use a toothpick and hold the stick in each direction to really get it in there, then work the stick in circles.

Looks like my reflow oven has gone missing in the process of moving to a new office 😭 Of all the things that could have disappeared, I have no idea how THAT's the thing I can't find.

Just finished physically relocating a small multi-tenant datacenter across town. Highlight of the weekend was driving a convoy of cars full of servers and half of us nearly getting T-boned by a pair of code 3 state troopers as we crossed the highway. 😬

Of course it's powered externally. If you powered it internally, like with say, an on-board nuclear reactor, you'd have no way to stop it when it goes rogue, intent on exterminating the human race. An external power supply is an easy killswitch. https://t.co/E0mR6oOMeM

Really hoping that the reports are true that @thebehemoth is aware of and working on a fix for Castle Crashers on Switch losing all music with the latest system update :( Guess I'll just use this opportunity to hawkster glitch my characters to max level in silence...

If I had any video editing skills whatsoever, I would splice together The Adama Maneuver from BSG with the bowl of petunias from Hitchhiker's Guide, because they're basically the same scene.
