We’re hiring a Java developer who already works with Claude Code. The job: let the agent draft OpenRewrite recipes, review them closely, run them against real customer code. Java upgrades, javax → jakarta, CVE fixes. Weiden or remote ☕️🇩🇪👨‍💻 xdev.software/jobs #Java #OpenRewrite

Had a great day at JUG Saxony Day with two talks. 10:20, Salon Lößnitz, code reviews. 16:55, Hamburg 2, failure stories. Both rooms were pretty much full, and people really seemed to enjoy the failure stories. 🧵 Photo © JUG Saxony e. V.

Nice to see that team communication and solid workflows still mean a lot, even on a program full of AI talks. Still, almost every conversation drifted into AI anyway, probably because that's what interests me most right now.

Best part of the day: real skeptics and early adopters sitting in the same room, talking to each other without any anger or aversion. #JSD2026

Code reviews that build trust instead of frustration 🔍 At IT-Tage in Frankfurt, Johannes Rabauer @rabauer.dev shares what he has seen in Java teams working on established codebases, and how they improved quality without burning people out. Get your ticket for #ITTage now. #Java #CodeReview

I've run a dozen AI coding tools live on stream. Copilot, Junie, IBM Bob, Antigravity, Kiro. All cloud-hosted. I still haven't found a local model that's actually good at generating code. Who's cracked this? What's your stack?

Fr, 25.09. Radebeul: Salon Lößnitz & Hamburg 2. #JSD2026

Everyone keeps asking which model I use. Wrong question. Months of streaming live AI-assisted coding taught me the model is rarely the bottleneck. A rules file the AI actually reads, small iterations, and letting tests judge the diff beat any model swap. Workflow > model. What's yours?

Had a great time with @rabauer.dev ! We went over time, and eventually got the app working, it's a pretty complicated app that would have probably taken weeks before AI! Check out the repo at github.com/bbenz/202608...

Starting soon! See everyone there. I'll be showing everyone how I work in my daily life at Microsoft as an AI advocate. I'll build and deploy a Java app live in this session, based on attendee input. See you today at 11AM PST, 8 PM CET. www.meetup.com/jug-oberpfal...

Here's a thing about AI "agents" in Java: if your LLM ever picked a tool, ran it, and reacted to the result, you already built one. So what's #LangGraph4j actually adding? Bartolomeo Sorrentino, who built it, joins live tomorrow to find out. youtube.com/live/bLN1iiT...

Took a while, but i finally got the verification: "GitHub Certified: Agentic AI Developer" 🎉 I liked to work with @github.com Actions before, but adding #AI to that workflow just makes it even more powerful!

We had another great 🛠️ DCN meetup this week. Stefan Böhringer gave us an introduction to Event Sourcing and shared his experience with the topic. The discussion and questions afterward showed how much interest there still is in fundamental software architecture topics.

Honestly kind of impressed by how far IBM Bob has come. Last time we torched 40 Bobcoins on a chess game, this time we built a whole habit tracker for just 8. If you don't have 2 hours for the stream, I wrote up the short version with all the learnings. rabauer.dev/en/blog/ibm-...

I had a great time learning about Ingos definition of a software factory in my last live-coding session. As usual, if the session is too much for you to watch, you can read this short article about it: rabauer.dev/en/blog/soft... (Yet i still recommend watching the whole video 😉)
