ITS SOLDERING TIME, BABY!!!!! …. i’m so afraid i’m going to break this while soldering hhhh here we go. Hopefully i’ll be able to update with it finished later this week! I need to frame it with zinc and i’ve never used zinc or cut zinc before so it’ll take a bit to figure out haha.

Had a phenomenal time at Spooktacufur this year! i loved having enough space to work on copper foiling a big piece and getting to talk about the process of working on stained glass. so grateful for the love i get from furries at cons šŸ™

slowwwwly coming along with this big wip i’ve been working on. Got the jackrabbit foiled, still working on finalizing the outer frame but I want it to be a big whimsical glass celebration. we’re getting there!!

Couple o rabbit skulls in the studio. I’ve got so many projects in the studio right now that have strict deadlines so i’ve been working some long days to get them outta there. Hoping to share some finished big projects soon!

I've been faced with a strange sensation of being forced to look my work in the eye and take it seriously in a way I haven't before? I always find my creativity is playful and fun and aloof and private. Since I've been taking this professional development course i've had to really ponder it.

Been sitting there trying to put into words how I make art, but also Why I make art. What's inside me that has to come out? Why do I make art to show other people? What do I hope they get out of it? It's hard to boil the abstract down to real words without also diminishing my own words too.

I just always felt like someone who "wasn't good" at art at all so I did it in secret and taught myself whatever I wanted to do. But I was never good at those things, I just did them for fun for myself. But now I'm having to manifest my creativity and look it in the eye and treat it w respect.

It's not Private anymore, it's been more public? And I don't necessarily mean posting online or anything, just having to present to a class and have them critique what I'm working on while also creating new works. I have to write about it. I've never felt good w words so I make art instead.

After an incredibly difficult week I went to an estate sale and found SO MUCH STAINED GLASS… grabbed this full sheet of Bullseye glass with its original price tag on it, worth more than my last car. I paid $25 🤯🫣🤯

Got some glass polish for the first time and WOW….. i should’ve known it would make such a difference but it still feels good! these skulls will be available at Spooktacufur at the end of the month!

I have a month full of con prep and need to finish an enormous panel for a gallery showing at the end of the month, but now I really want to make a puppet..... I feel like I should get into puppetry. What if I made a puppet. What if.

I've been unemployed since moving here and it's seriously eating through my money. I wish I made more money selling glass, but sales have always been finicky and uncertain. Some months I can pay bills off my glass! some months are definitely a no.

Like everyone times are hard and money doesn't go as far as it once did. I'm looking for part time work to try and help cover bills, but I haven't landed anything yet. It sucks!! I'm tired of this!! I wish I could find a job that didn't destroy my ass but the times for being picky are running out.

Be a use my next con is a furry one I need to make a ton of glass paws…. shoutout to anyone who’s ever bought one of these from me before. they’re the thing i hate making the most, but goddamn if people don’t love them.

I hyperfocused for most of the day and got 25 paws cut from glass then got half of them ground out. Even started work on my upcoming big jackrabbit project (unless i decide to resize the entire piece…. 24ā€ may be too big šŸ˜“

Usually I make 9 at a time since that’s how many fit on a 12ā€ sheet of vinyl, but today i’m trying to get all 30 done at a time. hoping I can get them all done this week! then i’ll be free to make other things afterwards.

I'm taking a creative professional development course, and it means I need to write an artist bio... which I've never done before. Like most folks I find this really difficult. It's been hard to find the words to describe my creative journey and what I'm making now! it's been quite a process.

Finished up a pair of prickly pear cactus panels for the NM Prickly Pear Festival i’m vending at in a few weeks!! Been a big fan of these funky square frames i’ve been playing with. Really hope both of these find homes there!

finished my Horned Lizard panel for a returning client! I legit might make another one of these in another colorway, I think she turned out beautifully and I’m going to be so sad when she leaves.

Things i keep asking myself: how important is straight lines in glass work? I find myself actively fighting against straight lines and crisp edges. I just don't like the look of it and I don't like feeling that I Have to have straight edges to master this media?

I need to find ways to actively fight against having straight lines in the outer frame of my work. I'm not happy w straight edges but i'm feeling unsure about my wobbly lines and imperfect backgrounds.

Made it into a local professional development course for artists! I've never done something like this, it feels crazy to be picked to be amongst a crew of incredibly talented local artists. Looking forward to designing some new glass pieces for this program.
