Yang is dressed in a Ukrainian folk costume, combining its recognizable elements: namysto (red bead necklace), woven plakhta (wrap skirt), zapaska (apron), and a wide krayka (belt). The vyshyvanka (embroidered shirt) features a pattern I copied from an authentic shirt from Western Polissia.

❗ The characters showcase the beauty of folk costumes and do not represent their countries. I know this drawing may provoke strong reactions, so any political debates and hateful comments will be deleted. This drawing means a lot to us, so please respect our feelings.

Ruby is wearing a Russian sarafan and a shirt with red shoulder insets. The sarafan’s cut is rather common, for example, in the Kazan Governorate or the Russian North. I also decided to add rose motifs to the outfit 🌹

She is inspired by the Minoan culture of Crete! And her Semblance is Hydrotaur: it creates an aura-constructed bull out of water. Kaimana usually uses it as a mount, which makes her a self-proclaimed tank of her team 😄

This comedy depicts the chaos after a Soviet submarine accidentally runs aground off a small island in New England. And in the midst of it all, there is a small romantic story between Soviet sailor Alexei and a local girl, Alison. Who, despite the cultural differences, fall in love with each other.
