TurningPoint USA is still growing. They’re using their billionaire donors’ money to set up chapters in schools across the country. We can’t let them win. If you’re a young person who is ready to fight back, and organize for democracy, join @votersoftomorrow.org. 👇 votersoftomorrow.org/students

votersoftomorrow.orgStudents - Voters of TomorrowWith over 11,000 members and chapters in over 25 states, Voters of Tomorrow is the country’s largest student-led political movement.

Friends, I sqw a meme once that basically said "they aren't asking their [rich] kids to skip college for the trades, they're asking yours" and I can't find it now. Does anyone have it??

List of pro-DEI companies. Note they may not be perfect (check original comments for some detail), but still a good list to have.

These are the good guys supporting DEI. Reward them with your business. Costco Meijer Kroger Giant Grocery Ben & Jerry’s Ulta, Macy’s Old Navy Nordstrom’s TJ Maxx GoTo Foods ( Moe’s Southwest Grill, Mcalister’s, Auntie Anne’s, Jamba, Cinnabon…) Dollar Tree Walgreens Wegmans

The hardest part of getting involved in local politics and serving in office is facing the very friendly, kind people (women) that I genuinely get along with just fine and knowing how they voted. Knowing what their (usually male) relatives say on social media against our social programs...

Knowing they voted (and continue to campaign), against their self interest; really against all of our best interests. Knowing, but having to pretend it's ok.

A) solid point in the original post B) what a perfect graphic to show why we're hearing "but what about the traaades?" every time a kid brings up attending college C) also why college loans are predatory

PONDER THIS… Have you ever noticed that when shit goes down, people demand that minorities be held responsible for their entire ethnic group? White folks are exempt from that demand. When a Black person does something bad, the entire Black community must answer for it. Why is that? 🧵

If anyone's keeping tabs on the Amazon strike. From what I could find, the unions are NOT asking for a shopping boycott.

Hel M@purplehel.bsky.social

Boycotting during a strike means there's less pressure of unfilled orders on the company tho. Unfilled orders pressures the company to give in to worker demands. That's why it's important to know what the workers are asking for.

Novel-length by bluesky standards, but good/scary read. Original linked youtube video at the end of it.

1/ 🚨 Conspiracy theories about the 2024 election miss the bigger picture. The truth? It wasn’t one night, one hack, or one fraud. It was a system rigged in plain sight – right in front of us. The playbook was out in the open for years. But hardly anyone paid attention. Here’s how they did it... 🧵

Sarah McBride: "It is an attempt to distract ... Every single time we hear them say the word 'trans,' look what they're doing with their right hand. Look at what they're doing to pick the pocket of American workers, to fleece seniors by privatizing Social Security and Medicare."

If you, like me, like to combine feminism with large fires anytime the system gets you down, I highly recommend the WoodWick Vagina Candle. Don't catch a charge when you can fill your home with a lovely aroma instead.

My husband streams news every morning, and while most of it is awful, it's not unberable because I've seen it here first. I've had time to process the news in a supportive environment. #bluesky truly is the calm amidst the storm.

You are up to date.
