This is exactly the approach we've taken with our observability platform with intelligent agents and a federated control plane. Check us out randoli.io

Given how high people's observability bills are, I gotta feeling the practice of analyzing logs and metrics locally is going to take off. A federated control plane could provide a "single pane of glass" while edge devices do the heavy lifting.

The Observability landscape is rapidly changing. The ingestion based pricing model is going to have a ton of pressure from a new breed of Observability vendors who will compete on value. OpenTelemetry & Agentic AI is changing the game. #sre #observability #opentelemetry

Excited to be a part of KCD Warsaw. I love the interactions and conversations I get to be a part of these events. I learn so much and the experiences and feedback I gather has really helped the growth of Randoli Observability platform. #cncf #kubernetes #opentelemetry #sre

My go to screen to quickly check the status of Microservices, is the Network Map of a Kubernetes cluster. πŸ“Œ I can immediately get a sense of the impact if any of my key services are down. πŸ“Œ Figure out what to prioritize and then drill down to troubleshoot What's yours? #sre #observability

When building our SRE Agent using #Langchain we wanted to gain visibility into the call stack & keep track of models, tokens, latency, cost etc. We used that foundation to build LLM Observabilty. Interested? Reach out to get access. #llm #observability #sre #devops

We recently had a bunch of issues in our dev env. Our SRE Assistant provided a good analysis - identifying scheduling issues, widespread image pullback issues due to missing dockerhub creds etc. Reach out if you want to find out more. #sitereliabilityengineering #platformengineering #agenticai

🎯 RED metrics aren’t just another dashboardβ€”they’re the foundation for SLO-driven monitoring and proactive issue detection. Start small. Instrument a few key endpoints. Build SLOs. Alert on what matters. Monitor what your users feelβ€”not just what your servers see.

Let’s take an example: Say you run an order service, and you want πŸ“Œ <5% error rate πŸ“Œ 99% of orders complete <50ms With RED metrics, you can: β–ͺ️Detect when latency spikes or errors increase β–ͺ️Set meaningful alerts tied to user experience β–ͺ️Debug faster with clear SLOs and performance signals

πŸ’‘ Bonus: If you're using OpenTelemetry, you're already halfway there. βœ… Enable span metrics βœ… Export them to Prometheus or your observability backend βœ… Start building dashboards that track what users actually care about

🚨 Here are 5 tips (+ 1 bonus tip) on how to reduce your observability costs and increase your ROI πŸ“Œ 1. Look at your customer journeys and understand how you can measure the user experience. Use that for creating your SLOs.

Going through this exercise can help you understand which telemetry data you really need to run your operations and so you can remove the rest. This will reduce your cost, improve customer experience and reduce the burden on the SRE teams.

Are there any downsides to having platform abstractions? πŸ€” πŸ“ŒOur initial product was an internal developer platform + portal. We eat our own dog food. So once it was operational we used it for about a year before we pivoted. #kubernetes #PlatformEngineering

πŸ’‘The platform did its job, as it made it super easy to build and deploy the applications to the point they were fully insulated from having to deal at the kubernetes level. In general this is not a downside. For us it was as our team required deep kubernetes knowledge to build our products.

Our journey into becoming an Observability vendor wasn't a straight line. We were always driven by how can we help customers make sense of what went wrong (root cause analysis) and more ambitiously warn that it may be trending that way (proactive insights).

Speaking with customers we realized, πŸ”΄ The cost of observability was a real pain point πŸ”΄ Data is ingested into these platforms at a higher cost, and customers spend enormous amount of time sifting through the data to make sense of it πŸ”΄ Dashboards != Insights

We rolled up our sleeves and went to work, figuring out how we can solve those pain points while sticking to our original mission. The Randoli Observability platform is a result of collaborations and discoveries alongside our customers and partners. #observability #sre #devops

Our journey into becoming an Observability vendor wasn't a straight line. We were always driven by how can we help customers make sense of what went wrong (root cause analysis) and more ambitiously warn that it may be trending that way (proactive insights).

We initially tried to build integrations into other observability vendors. We quickly realized the quality of our Insights depended on quality of the telemetry data and that can only happen if we gather data at the source.

SRE Teams face two challenges πŸ“Œ Identifying Issues quickly πŸ“Œ Figuring out how to resolve the issues Randoli Observability solution powered by #opentelemetry can help you with both! It can πŸ’‘ Automatically detect issues πŸ’‘ Match Runbooks to the issues #kubernetes #openshift #observability
