Sunday I told you it was anniversary of, in 1941, Benjamin O. Davis, Sr., becoming first Black general officer ever in the US Army. OTD in 1954, Davis's son, Benjamin O. Davis, Jr., became the first Black general officer in the US Air Force (which was the Army Air Corps until 1947). Image: USAF.

Wow! Talk about ‘artificially intelligent’!

Trump: "We will be officially BANNING the term, 'AI/Artificial Intelligence,' in all relevant documents, and everything else, due to its inaccuracy. Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP"

What are Tuesday mornings for if not baking some #sourdough cinnamon raisin pecan ‘gruel’ bread and then enjoying a slice (appropriately cooled) toasted with butter (or, maybe a slice or two of Camembert)?

“Weird friends,” sez the guy who hangs out in the Oval Office with some of the weirdest people on the planet.

i don't think anyone should run explicitly on banning online gambling but i do think that a democratic-led government should just quietly take steps to undermine the industry and create an inhospitable regulatory environment

You’d think a graduate of The OSU, with a Yale JD, would be more eloquent … apparently this faux ‘hillbilly’ is wholly unable to rise above his roots.

Even with all the levers of power he has his hands on, and even with control of every mechanism in the federal government, Trump has been unable to find election fraud. So he's crowdsourcing it now.

This report is really good and should be widely read. Among other things, it makes the point that by shielding Trump, DOJ is also allowing many other perpetrators to get away.

@heinrich.senate.gov, have you had a chat with that guy with whom you said you felt you could negotiate? If you haven’t yet … you might want to bring up this story and ask the very question Don Moynihan raises here: Are we now living in a police state?!?

Don Moynihan@donmoyn.bsky.social

I don't know that there is a definitive line to cross that makes you say, "I live in a police state now" but when masked gunmen can routinely brutalize the public, citizen or immigrant alike, with impunity, you have reached that point.

This drives me CRAZY. I grew up playing sports w/ boys. I played on a U12 boys select soccer team, b4 switching to a U12 girls team that kept beating us. Nobody had any issue with any of it. Youth sports have never had the strict sex/gender boundaries that “XX-XY” activists are now trying to defend.

Andrew D Thaler@drandrewthaler.bsky.social

I live in a rural town and, like, I don't know how to tell you this, but the girls play on the boys team and vice versa all the time because otherwise we don't have enough players for a game and it's literally always fine so stop being weirdos about kids sports and just let trans kids play.

Early this year, I visited Ingram, a TX town of ~1,900, to check out a tip. The area was starting to recover from its worst flood in a century. But as Latino workers drove to jobsites to help rebuild, the tipster said, a cop in a black Dodge Charger kept stopping them ... 🧵
