I've learned a lot this year, but mostly I've felt supported. That's what I'll carry into year two: more curiosity, more care, and the same gratitude for getting to do this alongside such thoughtful people.

Most of that comes down to the people. Teammates who give thoughtful feedback, assume good intent, and make space for each other across time zones. People who make hard problems feel lighter simply by working through them together.

And the culture that makes it possible. Fully remote, openly transparent, and genuinely human. Rest is treated as part of the work, not a reward for it. It's rare to find a place where the values people talk about match how they actually show up every day.

I have a question for all the designers out there: I feel like for someone who's not interested in the AI stuff or design to code, the Figma plan of $16 a month just to be able to organize my work in project and pages feels like a lot. What is the alternative? Moving back to Sketch?

After almost 3 years working purely on my MacBook, I've finally got myself an external keyboard and trackpad. Such a weird feeling at the moment but it will definitely payout in fewer back and shoulder pains

I miss being able to make my espresso at home. I know have the money to buy myself my dream espresso machine but don't have the time in the mornings to actually make one. So I am right now waiting for my kid's settling-in phase at the nursery to finish

Being here at my son’s nursery during his settling in phase, I’m experiencing how hard the job as a teacher here is. All the different noises, constant chaos everywhere and then the number of kids for so little staff

Found the perfect coffee spot near our new apartment that we are about to move to. Next goal: The barista knows my name and what I will order. In a small town like ours, this should be achievable 😁☕

Starting the day to 12 open PRs to be reviewed is nothing unusual (especially for someone who worked on remote teams for years) but I still need to get used to the fact that all those PRs are actually mine (by my coding agent) 😅

The next couple of weeks will be about us moving. After 4 months at crashing my parents place with wife and son, we are all excited to complete our move from 🇬🇧 to 🇩🇪 with our first night in our own apartment

I need to get rid of my Polar Loop again as it's been quite disappointing. So I am looking at alternatives: Strongest contenders: 1. Apple Watch Ultra 2. Fitbit Air 3. Garmin Centriq Anything else I should look out for? (For someone who used to use Whoop and the Oura ring doesn't work for me)

Yesterday, my WhatsApp account got restricted pending a review because I messaged two new numbers back to back (I am moving and had to text my new landlord and property managers) The whole day without WhatsApp made me realize how much I depend on it for so much of every day communication
