2025 could be 2004 v2 2025: * Half-Life 3 * Grand Theft Auto VI * Doom: The Dark Ages * Fable (2025) * Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater 2004: * Half-Life 2 * Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas * Doom 3 * Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater * Fable (2004)

From non-zero to 1 in 6 🎉 But I still haven't played Balatro, so I would probably vote for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree (even though it's an expansion).

RawbinHutt@rawbinhutt.bsky.social

I think there is a non-zero chance that Balatro wins game of the year at The Game Awards. I haven't even played it yet, but that is my very vague prediction.

Happy 20th birthday to Half-Life 2! Absolute juggernaut of a game. It was years ahead of it's time - especially in terms of graphical fidelity and use of physics. Don't worry, I'm still here waiting for Half-Life 3 or Half-Life 2 - Episode 3.

I can see how the post below can read as overly enthusiastic. Every other social media turns to poop with a for-profit algorithm, so BlueSky might end the same way. I'm just trying to say, that you at least have more tools to counter the algorithmic hell of seeing nothing but vitriol.

RawbinHutt@rawbinhutt.bsky.social

Every day, I see a new post claiming that there is no algorithm on BlueSky. I see these posts on "Discover" which is driven by an algorithm. There are so many algorithms here. You can even make your own through feeds. Follow feeds to tailor the algorithms to you.

Everyday in "Discover", I see spam accounts pop up and get a lot of reposts (although much less than on Twitter). I hope at least we can improve customizing the experience here more, so we don't end with BlueSky being yet another spam and vitriol infested hell.

I fear with time, with more users and with more bots, moderation will become near impossible, but part of me still hopes that BlueSky can be different with allowing us to set up meaningful spaces for discourse (be it feeds or whatever else)

I don't want people coming in with false expectations. Your posts are being discovered through algorithms similar to other websites. We can only hope that it doesn't turn into the absolute most evil sh*t being recommended everywhere. It seems like BlueSky (users and company) both do not want that.

Okay... How about SepTTRPG? Instead of a novel, you put extra work into that TTRPG, which has been on pause, or you start writing a new one. If you are Halloween inclined, you might have your spooky game ready for October. #TTRPG #DND #SepTTRPG

Around Christmas, I had a fake Santa Claus hogtied in Santa's workshop. PC's helped him out... But... Turned out it was a Redcap kinda creature. Real Santa Claus (Called the Saint of Midwinter's Eve), a true bad-ass, was looking for other Redcaps in his basement.

I decided to go with Stars Without Number for now. Free and has a simple D&D-esque feel, so I will probably feel somewhat at home. I also found a bunch of suggestions elsewhere that looked neat. This one stood out: Mythic Space - Apparently it's Halo + Mass Effect - I might need this one too!

I'm looking at various systems like: * Stars Without Number * Scum and Villainy * Starfinder Having a hard time deciding. Someone out there who's played a game in this Mass Effect + Firefly style mentioned above?

Yay, soon I can have my nerdy stuff back!

redsolver@redsolver.dev

The current SkyFeed infrastructure can't handle the extra load (more than 4x) caused by all the new users. I'm currently setting up two new powerful servers, which should have enough resources to get all feeds back online later today. Thanks for your patience and sorry for the downtime 😊

Did you know... Denmark is one of the most trusting nations in the world. "Nearly 74% of Danes believe “most people can be trusted” – more than any other nationality." - according to the Guardian Believe it or not, in Denmark, we leave children sleeping outside in baby prams.

I was inspired to write this when @jayeeis.bsky.social pointed me to the Starscape TTRPG where Trust is a main mechanic. Trust is such an interesting topic, and Denmark has a (maybe) unique way to look at it. In Denmark, trust is THE main mechanic. From the Danish Ministry of Affairs:

I have the urge to play a Sci-Fi TTRPG in a Mass Effect and Firefly style. Mass effect in terms of combat, space politics, scale and characters/creatures. Firefly in terms of being a ragtag crew going sailing through space. 1/2 #ttrpg

New lore drop: "Nowadays, the Intergalactic Society of Interdependent Bowling Experts also known as ISO-IBE, strictly controls all bowling affairs in an effort to avoid any type of celestial giants engaging in celestial body bowling." #BowlNBrawl #TTRPG

If you play D&D, and you want a lot of "minis" get the Pathfinder Pawns. Yea, the names will be a bit different, but outside of that, you'll have a TON of "minis" for you games.

When it comes to TTRPG podcasts, I only really listen to @slyflourish.com's. But if Bob World Builder decides to start a podcast, then I'm in! He needs to get on here so we can yell at him to do just that. I don't really know many TTRPG podcasts though, to be honest...

What RPG podcasts are folks listening to these days? Preferably non-5e, non-actual play! I already listen to: @thegrognardfiles.bsky.social The Good Friends of Jackson Elias @sdorward.bsky.social @rulelord2e.com #ttrpg #podcast

#RPGaDay2024 Great Gamer Gadget: An Ikea VÄRLDENS backpack for $54. It's HUGE and can fit everything you would need as a game master and much more. I was looking for recommendations, and everywhere I looked was messenger bags or small backpacks. Nah, I needed a big bag, and this is it.

#RPGaDay2024 Great Gamer Gadget: The pencil. Seriously: Notes. Erasing and re-writing of hitpoints etc. Doodling character portraits. Chewing while anxious. Handy vampire stake. Here are some I got custom printed for about £1 each. You could get some printed for your next game as a keepsake.

A few years ago, I started writing a silly fantasy book, and then did the same thing most everyone did who started writing a book: I stopped again 📖📚 I've been thinking of picking it back up. I do still like this draft for the intro:

The three stages of losing access to meaningful information when searching online. A small silly thread. 1. Stage 1 - Pre-ad-infested-slob spam: You searched and found answers to your question. 2. Post-ad infest: You sort of find answers but they are hidden between a bunch of nonsense to farm ads.
