Saw a bumper sticker on a Ford F-150 on I-80 in Iowa that said “love everything liberals hate.” Amazing to be so open about loving racism, misogyny and cruelty. Hillary was correct: these people are deplorable.

Cyclists need to respect pedestrians. So, too, do car drivers, who kill and maim far many more pedestrians than cyclists ever do, no matter how you slice the statistics.

I have been threatened, cut-off, and once had a gun brandished, simply because I was riding a bike in lycra. Every time I ride my wife tells me to "be safe" because she knows the risk. No one says that when I hop in my car.

My wife was hit "head-on" by a car and had her face rearranged, broken jaw, orbital, nose, and nasal cavity. Plus double-vision from the muscles controlling the eye being impinged by the broken orbital. Yet drivers are "trustworthy."

I have been hit by cars at least three times while riding, none of which was caused by me being incautious or lacking care. I watch for pedestrians, make sure they have space to walk unimpeded and anticipate they will "squirrel." I don't ride on sidewalks and neither does my cohort.

While most drivers are trustworthy, not all. Close-pass and intimidation tactics are commonplace. Too many times I have been pushed off the road by vehicles who want to assert their dominance. That does not get reported, and even when it does, nothing is done about it.

Tom, this is BS. The Senate found a way to agree. Fund DHS less ICE. What you are effectively proposing is to fund ICE too. That should be disqualifying for being an elected Democrat from New York. I guess you are as bad as I thought, all along.

@tomsuozzi.bsky.social We worked hard to get you back in that seat. I persuaded my now 98 year-old mom to get out and vote for you, multiple times. You pay us back by voting to fund ICE. Your vote mattered. What is the point in having a Democratic representative if you're going to tow the GOP line?

Buying Greenland would likely cost $700 billion. Not that it’s for sale. But if Greenland and Denmark did want to do so, given Trump’s history of failing to pay for services, I’d want cash in advance.

Stock and bond markets have reacted favorably to the June U.S. CPI data, which largely aligned with, or came in slightly softer than, consensus forecasts: Monthly headline inflation was 0.3%, bringing the annual measure to 2.6%. Core inflation, both monthly and annually, was 0.2% and 2.9%... 1 of 2

Yes, again agreed. It's a tough balance. Trump politicizes everything and sees only his side and all others are aligned against him. Definitionally, this is political and will, regardless of ideological preferences, be cast in that light.

You are up to date.
