I can't see why anyone is excited about Googlebooks. We've all used a Chromebook before, right? We know this experience. It's loaded with promise but very meh.

As much as I hate to admit this, because I hate Apple, the fact that Apple is comfortable releasing a foldable now has me much more open to the idea of finally picking up the Samsung Galaxy Flip that I've been eyeing for 3 generations now. But also a Fold would be dope.

It's insane how this game continues to grow and expand. @whatleydude.com shall we rendezvous on our shared planet soon?

There are parts of society that I just vehemently despise. The whole process of a "pharmacy" is one of them. Why do I need to come sit here while you fill my order? Why can't I just have a prescription dropped off at my door kike everything else.

Our HOA is voting on a rental-capping amendment in the neighborhood we current rent in and the neighborhood Facebook group is LIT UP with opinions. Halfway tempted to hire @amybrown.xyz to come do some journalism up in here.

Accidentally logged into Facebook, figured it's been a while, I'll poke around. Holeee SHIT. If you wondered where all the AI slop has been going, I found it for ya.

Rewatched "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" on the flight home this week. I'd forgotten just how unbelievably awful this movie truly was, and primarily because the two leads had the chemistry of a brown paper bag and a piece of sandpaper.

It's still wild to me how the MCU came all the way to Infinity War basically printing money, then got through Endgame and promptly lost the plot entirely. Is there even ONE post-Endgame MCU movie worth watching?

Just saw that there is ANOTHER #Halo game up for sale, for $60, that is apparently just a repackage of the original campaign? This would be the THIRD time (that I'm aware of) that MS has sold the same junk. And they wonder why XBOX is struggling.

Bought new Comply foam eargels for my wireless earbuds and WHY HAVE NONE OF YOU SUGGESTED THIS TO ME BEFORE? They're more comfortable, stay in my ears better, and sound more clear. Total game-changer.

When I worked in an office environment, I wanted a reMarkable so freakin bad. I used to actually carry an iPad (I know, it's true) with a stylus around when I worked at RadioShack. Now that I'm WFH, though, I'd struggle to find a use for something like that.

Call me crazy, but I could *swear* that someone told me a few years ago that the President has full control of gas prices? Like, there's a button or lever in the Oval office - all he has to do is use it to make gas prices drop?

"The beautiful thing about communities and platforms like Flickr is that they remind us that not everything on the internet has to be ephemeral, not everything on the web has to be hyper-commercial." YES.

Inspired by @hankgreen.bsky.social's fun new timeline of photos from the Artemis II mission, I wrote up an answer to a question that's more pertinent these days than it may seem: Why are the Artemis II photos on Flickr? www.anildash.com/2026/04/30/a...

If we're going to break up Ticketmaster, can we go after SiriusXM next? I freaking HATE them with the passion of a thousand suns, but if I want to start my car from my phone, they're literally the ONLY option.

The Lede does "saves" differently. Tap the bookmark icon to get three choices to send an item to "your desk". These items will pop back up in your feed periodically via a "nudge" - a gentle reminder to do something. Test it out, let me know what you think. thelede.info

The *only* positive I can see from this whole Strait of Hormuz fiasco is that it *could* theoretically, jump-start the renewable resources drive. Of course, that requires logic and critical thinking to prevail, which is questionable, but it would be nice, wouldn't it?
