We've been here before apparently... "The 1829 Inauguration RideOn March 4, 1829, after his inaugural address, a chaotic crowd-control problem occurred at the Capitol. To protect the newly elected president from the overwhelming crush of his supporters, his team ushered him inside."

"However, Jackson mounted a white horse and rode through the streets to the White House. A massive, frenzied crowd followed him and essentially turned the building into a rowdy, frontier-style house party, resulting in Jackson having to escape the premises through a window."

For me, there have only been a few instruments that carry in them a certain extra special magic. One in particular is the Rickenbaker 12 string. I first heard it's jangle on the Beatles VI album. Then later with the Byrds and R.E.M.. #rickenbacker #electricguitars

@nbcnews.com can you please instruct your news readers to stop telling their viewers "look at that!" every time there is sensational footage aired? It's goddamn annoying and it degrades the quality of your program... We are already watching. We don't need you telling us what to look at...

W.E.B. Du Bois on Robert E. Lee: “Either he knew what slavery meant when he helped maim and murder thousands in its defense, or he did not. If he did not he was a fool. If he did, Robert Lee was a traitor and a rebel–not indeed to his country, but to humanity and humanity’s God.”
