Ugh, have to go to the dentist later and I don’t wanna 😩 but this is already the rescheduled second attempt so I have to and why are teeth so silly and useless that you have to have them professionally looked at every six months so they don’t like, fall out of your head or something.

I definitely have a normal amount of tea as the only tea drinker in the house, nothing excessive. I’ll just start packing up the stuff I don’t use every day since we need to clear the kitchen so work can begin in a few days, this box is probably a bit big but whatever… oh 😬

Ha. I found more tea. And I’ve left my already open Assam and mint teas out because I need them. And I threw out a bunch of green tea (I tried to make myself like green tea but alas I very much still do not).

Just had a fun meltdown because mum casually started talking about how we’re leaving while they do the kitchen and my brain just went NOPE NOT DOING THAT and then devolved into trying to articulate that I would hate it at the best of times but right now I NEED to be here because Kisy cat was here.

Like, I’ve barely slept in a month, and the grief is still very much a raw exposed nerve that I can’t even look at yet, but at least when I’m here my brain forgets that she’s not, it still feels like she’s just somewhere out of sight. I can cope with it while I’m here.

And I mean, my entire set of coping mechanisms for nearly 20 years was her. When I was upset or uncomfortable or whatever, at home go cuddle Kisy cat, not at home think about going home to Kisy cat. I don’t know how to cope with being not here yet when she won’t be waiting for me when I get back.

Ok, back from Sense And Sensibility and I have… thoughts 🙃 It was a beautiful film, it looked gorgeous, and the cast were great especially mvp of the movie Fiona Shaw as Mrs Jennings. But they also changed some stuff that really changed character motivations so it just felt really off at parts.

Like, they changed some stuff about Willoughby that kind of downplayed what he did while also changing his dynamic with Brandon, and they changed some stuff with Edward that completely changed the dynamic with him, Elinor, and Lucy, one moment in particular I was properly like “Edward would NEVER!”

Off to see Sense And Sensibility in a minute 🥰 it’s probably my second favourite Austen novel and the 1995 is one of my all time favourite movies. Excited to get to see a new version.

Did I need to add this little dinosaur guy to my order when buying a dvd off of Vinted? No. Did I do it anyway and then spend a considerable amount of time just opening and closing his mouth while making dinosaur noises? Yes. Yes I did.

There are a couple of other Nicholas Nicklebys I’d also like but this is the main one I really wanted. Now I just need that Barnaby Rudge and I’ve got at least one adaptation of every full Dickens novel! There was also a bbc Edwin Drood, I watched it, so I might also have to track that down 🤔

Hadestown pro-shot was really good! I’d seen videos of Wait For Me before but never the actual stage version so I did proper big sparkly anime eyes of awe when the set started to transform into the underworld! And even knowing the original myth and how it ends, still teared up when it happened 🙃

I was like, am I misinterpreting this trailer so I went and looked and the synopsis of the second of four episodes is Lucie and Charles going to Paris to look for her long lost father 🙃 what how huh that is not what happens in A Tale Of Two Cities!

When I was 9ish one of my best friends moved to a new school and one time invited me over to play, along with two new friends that I didn’t know. And they made it very clear that they thought I was weird. I’d always been a weird little gremlin child but that was the first time I really realised it.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: This sounds like a joke question, but it isn’t. If it doesn’t apply to you, fine. But it’s a serious question with different levels of meaning. And I am genuinely curious. When did you first realize you were weird?

I was extremely lucky that my family and the kids at school had always just embraced my weirdness before that point. Like, me being weird was just a nebulous neutral fact floating around that I was vaguely aware of. That day was the first time I felt I was weird, and that that could be a bad thing.

The pain and grief is just over there in a box somewhere off to the side because I’m very much still in the if I look at or think about that I instantly become a complete mess so we’re just not dealing with that yet stage 🙃

Ha, no, I’m definitely not coping with the loss of Kisy by using the money that was supposed to be for her food subscription to buy used period drama DVDs off Vinted, why do you ask? 😬

Also trying to nab a copy of specifically the Charles Dance and James D’Arcy version of Nicholas Nickleby, and also that one Barnaby Rudge that’s super old but the only version available because apparently nobody wants to adapt that one!

Have I played the game? Nope. Did I know a single thing about this character yesterday? Not a thing. Did I just order the tie-in book out of sheer spite because YouTube kept trying to make me watch “this is the WORST book ever and the author is a BAD PERSON for writing it!” kind of videos? Yep 🙃

I’d obviously heard of this character and seen images of him because BG3 was huge but this whole thing is how I found out that he’s a vampire. And a bad guy? Maybe? Or at least somewhere in the complicated morally dark grey area. Guess I’ll find out when I read a book about him!

Just booked cinema tickets for me and mum to go see the Hadestown pro-shot this week and Sense And Sensibility next week 😬 I basically ran up to her like “WE HAVE TO GO TO THE CINEMA TWICE OK? OK!”

I don’t know if she’ll want to go see Sunrise On The Reaping with me when that comes out… don’t think she’s actually seen the Hunger Games movies 🤔 I’m fine going to the cinema by myself it’s just easier with her cause then I don’t have to get the bus 😂

One of our neighbours was having their roof done a few weeks ago so my mum was like oh, can you do ours too? (We had it done like a year or so ago but they did a bad job so bits of roof kept falling off every time it was windy which was fun 🙃) so the same roof guy has been here doing ours this week.

The other day when he started our next door neighbour was like, oh can you look at mine? And today he came back to finish (had to pause because it rained) and the nice man across the road has waylaid him while he’s securing the ladders to his van 😂 apparently we are quite the lucrative road for him!

What amazon thinks about me: “Maintains consistent confectionary purchasing” “Systematically collects complete series” “Watches science fiction entertainment extensively” “Solves jigsaw puzzles regularly” “Has a cat” So basically, they noticed I’m autistic.

Amazon users are discovering a bizarre "About You" page that reveals what the company thinks it knows about them One woman found Amazon had determined she "has flat buttocks"

Luna dog is such a little bugger! After we play ball with her she usually gets a treat so whenever she wants a treat she bugs you to play and when you throw the ball she’ll run after it, but instead of giving it back to be thrown again she just runs past you to the kitchen like ok, treat time now! 😂
