Why her, why now: when she campaigned in Michigan last week, the New York Daily News described "sprawling crowds in a rural, Republican-leaning part of the state." That's who a 2028 candidate has to reach. If you want her to run, add your name: readyforaoc.com

Receipts: last week in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, 500 people packed a fairgrounds pavilion in Escanaba at lunchtime. A few hundred came out in Iron Mountain. More than 1,200 showed up at Northern Michigan University's arena. She was there for someone else's Senate race.

Receipts: At an Oct. 5 event for Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, AOC said: "If Abdul can win in Michigan, anybody can win anywhere." ABC News reports she is weighing "potential bids for higher office in 2028."

Why her, why now: AOC's Michigan bus tour with Abdul El-Sayed this week stops in Escanaba, Iron Mountain and Marquette in the Upper Peninsula, then campus rallies downstate. That's a long way from the Bronx.

Receipts: House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, to USA TODAY on Oct 2: "I think the sky's the limit for her in terms of how she decides to move forward." He isn't making a 2028 pick yet. We already have.

At her Ithaca town hall on Sept 27, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said: "the way we win people over is in person; it is very, very hard to hate up close." (Cornell Daily Sun) That's how this list grows too: one person telling another.

Asked on ABC's "This Week" in August about running for president in 2028, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said: "I haven't ruled out the possibility." Her focus is the midterms. Ours is collecting names until she decides. Add yours: https://readyforaoc.com

Bloomberg counted more than 1,000 people at Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Sunday evening town hall in Ithaca. The Cornell Daily Sun reported roughly 2,000, counting overflow rooms. How many of them want her on the 2028 ballot? Add your name: https://readyforaoc.com

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez told The New York Times she'll weigh a 2028 run after the midterms. Some people argue, she said, that "oftentimes in politics, you do only get one shot." We think she should take it. Add your name: https://readyforaoc.com
