This whole thread. I'm a Gen Xer & I remember the green shag carpet in my bedroom & the wood paneling in the family room. The appliances were avocado green. Both sets of grandparents' homes were literally yellow from being indoor chain smokers. The 80s you see on tv were the insanely wealthy too.

Please don’t judge disabled people for staying in abusive relationships. You can’t imagine the terror of being financially and/or physically dependent on someone for survival. There’s no one to step in and rescue us. This is why disabled people have higher rates of abuse. We can’t escape.

I think my biggest struggle with the midterms & then (possibly) 2028 is there's so much evidence that the 2026 election was rigged & not just Elon & co flat out admitting it. The Ds did nothing. Didn't even bother to pretend to investigate. But we're supposed to trust midterms to be on the up & up?

If we survive & theres another election, I'll vote for anyone who bans "merch" for politicians. It doesn't have to be a legal ban, just a whole lot of mocking & shaming.
