Bad art is a necessary step to making good art, and all artists were bad until they weren't. Very few come out of the womb with a Cintiq stylus in their hand. Please don't ever stop creating things.

I enjoy the Switch, but the Wii U had some things that neither Switch 1 or 2 are able to replicate for me. - web browser - Mario Maker and Splatoon without a paid subscription - buying Virtual Console games including DS

I have reviewed quite a lot of AI code, and I can't emphasize how bad it can often be. Useless methods, hallucinated functions, references to frameworks and libraries we don't use, etc. A lot of open source projects are dealing with this lately and the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

this is why the "but I am a coder and I re-read back all the claude output so it's fine, we check it, it's okay" is a farce. many times it generates a huge amount of code, tens of thousands of lines, you aren't reading all that! nobody's job is taking 3 days to read and check thousands of lines!

Juice = whatever value that AI coded PR offers Squeeze = the effort of parsing usually inefficient garbage code that a real developer never looked at

Purely anecdotally, I've been daily driving Linux for a few years now, and I don't think I've encountered a Steam game that didn't run on day 1. I know support is not 100%, but it's so close at this point that I haven't been able to tell the difference.

It may surprise you what games run normally, no terminal needed: Every single player game on Steam I've tried, including demos and those with Denuvo MMOs like Guild Wars 1, GW 2, and WoW Games with anti-cheat like Sea of Thieves and Elden Ring Multiplayer games like Peak and Lethal Company

For the modders, this support does include many mods. It's not my area of expertise, but I've gotten the following working with about as much effort as Windows: Elden Ring Seamless Co-Op Lethal Company with mods including custom outfits, larger lobbies, and misc QoL features All of Fallout London

Disclaimer: I do not play many big, online games with aggressive anti-cheat. I play mostly single player games and p2p multiplayer games. There are games which have required some work to get running, but for the most part, that's been older games that would also need work to run on Windows

I responded to this message same day, and have yet to hear back yet. Please let me know if there's a better contact method to get ahold of somebody who can resolve this issue.

Have messaged you here to help

For weeks, I have been trying to get ahold of somebody about my missing order, including this email address. Is there a customer support phone number, or a better way to get in touch to resolve this?

The year is 2035 TV shows are no longer the robust 8-episode series that they once were Entire seasons have been condensed down into one single 90 minute episode Films, however, are now 5.5 hours on average

In a surprising announcement, yesterday's Nintendo Direct revealed Metroid Ravenous - a reference to Samus Aran being a longtime fan of the Baltimore Ravens.

As much focus as the Ocarina of Time remake's visuals are getting, I think the lack of meaningful changes are a bigger deal to me. Not that it needed to be a complete BotW style refresh, but something to justify why it was remade beyond a contentious coat of paint.

If you're on the fence about going to see Coyote vs Acme in theaters, I recommend doing so. There's something amazing about being able to see a movie that was once going to be buried as a tax write off. But the movie, itself, is excellent.

Reminder that publishers said the same thing when consoles first started doing digital distribution. Still waiting for those prices to go down.

Killing PlayStation discs could make PS Store games cheaper, according to a former Square Enix exec www.eurogamer.net/ps-store-pri...

The Retroid Pocket Nova is getting some fantastic positive coverage 120Hz 4:3 OLED screen is a great selling point already, but having the power behind it for GameCube, PS2, and Wii emulation, plus even Windows games, makes it a compelling handheld.

I would really like to see a Switch 2 patch for Another Crab's Treasure. They built a fantastic world and it would be great to see it running at higher specs.

While the Switch 2 feels like an objective upgrade over the Switch 1 hardware in nearly every way, nothing will replace how I felt playing it. Try to tell 9 years ago me "Yeah well the screen isn't that great and the processor is old" and I'll just be like 👍 and go back to playing open world Zelda

I keep seeing new crazy PS Vita ports and it warms my heart that people are still doing stuff with Vitas Really taking that "Never Stop Playing" slogan seriously

Very curious about performance. My PC runs circles around the Switch 2 hardware, but my framerate is all over the place. Respect getting a game north of 100GB on other platforms to fit on a cartridge though

The gates of Oblivion are opening... The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on Aug 11! Watch the full trailer: ninten.do/6016vshIC

Game Idea: Basically Cuphead but with Dark Souls bosses 90% of the game is level-by-level boss rush, buying different weapons and abilities, etc 10% you're just a lil guy doing platforming levels and mini-games

I am disappointed to keep seeing new authors self-publishing books with AI covers The obv ethical issues aside, it calls into question whether you actually wrote your own book or whether AI did And some of the covers turn out so bad because AI has no concept of taste or composition like artists do

Making console exclusives again is a good start for Xbox, but for them to truly succeed, they're gonna need: 1. more Viva Piñata games End of list.

Some people are asking "Why don't companies want to launch in November around GTA6? All the big companies are moving their release dates, and not everybody will want to play it..." etc, etc. Here's why: (1/?)

If you're indie or working with a smaller publisher, it's often a gamble whether a website or content creator will play it at all To release in a time when discourse will be so full of GTA6, getting your foot in the door will be much harder, with a greater chance of being drowned out anyway (9/?)

But it is ALSO a sales issue. Sure, not everybody will play GTA6 in November. But do you really want your target market to be limited to "people who aren't currently playing GTA6"? Or would you rather wait to release and have your audience overlap with people who might also have GTA6? (10/10)

If you're a AAA company, you move your release date because you are investing millions of dollars marketing your next big game after 7 years of production. You can't afford to dump money to try (and fail) to offset this and see your game reviews sandwiched between 12 articles about GTA6. (7/?)

If you're AA or SMB, those marketing budgets are even thinner, so it's important to optimize every penny AAA companies often have a default visibility from past releases that can help, but smaller studios don't always have that benefit. It's already an uphill battle, and GTA6 is a cliff. (8/?)

GTA5 spent millions and millions of dollars on marketing, and 6 is positioned to be even bigger - with an estimated development and marketing budget in the BILLIONS. You'll likely be seeing any combination of video ads, banner ads, in-app ads, sponsored segments, and native advertising. (5/?)

And it's a big, open world game. HLTB lists GTA5's runtime around 45 hours, but you'll frequently see playtimes on Steam of hundreds or even thousands of hours, meaning attention will likely have a longer tail. It's not just sales, but attention that you're competing for. (6/?)

It doesn't matter if some people won't buy it at launch, because gaming discourse will be congested with GTA6. Game websites will be flooding their feeds with not just reviews, but guides, editorials, any content to take advantage of the flood of consumers playing it during that timeframe. (3/?)

Streamers, Youtubers, Tiktokers, will be doing the same - packing their feed with relevant content. You will be seeing Youtube videos from creators you've never heard of reacing tens of millions of views doing GTA6 content. (4/?)

First, you need to understand the scale of GTA6 GTA 5 is one of the top-selling games of ALL TIME with a combined total of over 230 MILLION copies. That's like EVERY PS5 OWNER IN THE WORLD buying two copies, and then every Wii U owner buying three copies of what's left. (2/?)

Alabaster Dawn's visuals scratch such a specific itch for me. PS1/N64 had similar 2D-in-3D thing going for some games, but this is reading more like Nintendo DS to me.

I hope the Backrooms movie has people actually suddenly glitching into the backrooms, instead of the usual movie thing where the lights kind of flicker for a sec and then they're somewhere different. One of the key bits of lore that I enjoyed was taking video game logic and applying it to real life

Searching on here just showed me a bunch of news outlets linking to their own sites, some of which don't include links to the original post. Thought this might be useful if somebody else is looking for it.

I consider Donkey Kong Bananza to basically be Mario Odyssey 2. It's definitely different, but they share so much DNA that it feels like an excellent sequel to me. Looking forward to Mario Odyssey 3: Ice Climbers

With the price of PC components exploding, I hope a side effect is greater interest in SBC game handhelds companies like Anbernic make Pico-8 works great, and games like Iconoclasts and Undertale can run on most firmwares that Portmaster supports Be cool to see new games come out for them

Game idea: Armored Crossing Instead of paying off your mortgage, you're working to pay off increasingly expensive upgrades to your mech Also you plant flowers and go fishing.

My top 3 2025 games for Nintendo Switch 2 (in no specific order): - Hollow Knight: Silksong - Donkey Kong Bananza - Cyberpunk 2077 These were all a blast, and I recommend them if you're considering it.
