For those curious, it's just calculated using a basic normal cumulative distribution with a dynamic residual error based on actual game margins minus the /r/FCS Sportsbook's predicted spread.

Folks, we need to start having a frank and earnest conversation about Campbell. Undefeated in FCS play. As strong if not stronger SOS as fellow undefeated teams like Tarleton, SFA, or Harvard. And as good a single best win in ETSU as any of the above as well.

So far today in the Top Ten Looked good: ✅ Harvard Took care of things against weaker opponents: ✅ Tarleton ✅ SDSU Great battle of two good teams: 🥊 USD vs UND Rock fight with a team they should’ve beat better: 🪨 MSU 🪨 Illinois State lol, wut 🤡 Lehigh

Playoff Committee’s Week 8 Top 10 (compared to the /r/FCS poll) 1. MSU (#3) 2. Tarleton (#1) 3. YSU (#4) 4. SFA (#2) 5. SDSU (same) 6. UND (same) 7. NAU (#8) 8. USD (#7) 9. Austin Peay (same) 10. Harvard (same)

MEAC ranked ahead of both the Patriot and CAA, just as we all expected

Let’s take a look at the conference landscape after Week 7! No surprise, but the MVFC remains on top. But #2? None other than the UAC (helped assuredly by their strong OOC showings). Then we have the Big Sky followed by the Ivy and then the SoCon. www.rfcssportsbook.com/rfcs-sportsb...

This week's Stats Perform Poll is topped by #1 Tarleton (UAC) and #2 Stephen F Austin (Southland). This is the first time the top 2 excludes both Big Sky and MVFC teams since Week 12 of 2021, when it was #1 Sam Houston (AQ7) and #2 James Madison (CAA)

We have two (nearly identical) purple center logos ready to go in the event that certain teams end up breaking through this week and getting their first ever #1 ranking in our poll. Will you get to see one? Only time (and voters) can tell!

Once again would love to hear what people’s arguments for Tarleton over SFA. SOS essentially a wash (Massey favors Tarleton, Sagarin favors SFA). SFA has better showings in shared matchups. Models view Bowling Green about equivalent to ACU, so that’s not really a factor either.

And if you then apply the eye test, it’s clear that SFA has looked more complete compared to Tarleton as a whole. And that showing stats as well: Total offense: Tarleton #1, SFA #2. Total defense: SFA #22, Tarleton #90

You may be asking yourself, “Why in the world is Elon playing Stanford tonight?” But it’s really quite easy: Elon is an obvious pay-to-play choice because they sit deep in the Atlantic Coast Conference’s footprint.

Yes, even the otherwise lowly C-USA deserves an autobid. If the C-USA and the MAC are going to be recognized as FBS conferences, their champions deserve a shot. Just like the Pioneer and NEC champs deserve their shot in the FCS playoff. Otherwise just force another ‘82 on them.

Imagine if college football’s biggest schools got together to try and create a 24 team playoff… and immediately blew it by denying autobids to every conference. That would be a looney tunes scenario.

Just because they’re both struggling this season doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a tie game as regulation is winding down. Go checkout the FCS misfits matchup over on CBSSN if you have it!

Get yourself a guy who can do it all! Ty Pennington has now scored a TD passing, rushing (x2), and receiving against Montana this game.

Try to beat 34 Idaho >MSU >NAU >ID St >UT St >Troy >AL St >MVSU >PVAMU >TX Sth >NCCU >NC A&T >URI >Merrimack >New Haven >Marist >Presby >St Thomas >San Diego >Cal Poly >EWU >UNI >Drake >Dayton >EKU >Chatt >Wofford >G-WU >Charleston Sth >Citadel >SC St >Furman >Mercer >ACU >Idaho

Gotta assume it can go much further without doubbling up teams, but that was a first stab attempt without automating. Would be curious how far it can be taken anchoring to the FCS.

Also, that's probably the first time the new SDSU center logo has been made pubic, replacing the older big eared logo that never really fit with the size format correctly.

Citadel > SC State > Furman > Mercer > Presbyterian > St Thomas > San Diego > Cal Poly > EWU > UNI > Drake > Dayton > EKU > Chattanooga > Citadel

Villanova has six other QBs on roster, yet went to the mat in support of a messy legal fight to go 2-4 starting a conference-ineligible 7th QB. If the others are paying attention, Nova should probably have far fewer than 6 QBs on roster next year once the portal opens.

The MEAC shall inherit the Earth

In a surprise to nobody, the 3-3-5 defense that couldn't stop Missouri Valley teams also can't stop Big Ten teams
